Is there anything that can be done about middle-aged(ish) sagging jawline?

I don't mean changing due to weight gain, just how it starts to sag a bit compared to the young 'uns. I am mid-40s. Is there anything that actually does tighten it up a bit? Thanks!

My friends have threads put in (50 years plus) Painful but not that expensive.

Not sure on results as they all looked good to start with !

I have met Nick Rhodes,he is lovely, and was sorry i couldn't afford what i wanted,he had his wife with him, they were both very nice and friendly, not stuffy or like some i have heard about

NoMoreUsernamesAnymore · 07/07/2020 17:34

Google "mewing technique". I now have a jawline after years of being a chinless wonder. It's free and extremely effective
Lots have commented on my changed face shape.

ALbigbump · 07/07/2020 20:15

Also interested to see before and after pics. Been thinking about thread facelift for my 50th

PartyCat · 07/07/2020 21:02

Thanks @NoMoreUsernamesAnymore - that is more up my street, rather than surgery and thousands of £s! I googled it and have started sticking my tongue to the roof of my mouth already. I looked in the mirror doing it and I can see the shape of my neckline change/tighten up just by doing that. Will just have to do it for the next 40 years now :-) Thanks for the info!

Profhilo. Not a filler but a bit like one - they call it injectable skincare. Provides a noticeable lift. Love it so much! And it's completely natural looking.

Othering · 09/07/2020 11:55

Profhilo did absolutely less than nothing for me. Lots of previous posts on here saying the same thing. Hurts far more than filler, costs the same and has little to no results AND doesn't last very long. Its a big thumbs down from me.

Vodkacranberryplease · 09/07/2020 15:01

Really? I've found it great! You have to do 2 rounds and it takes weeks to show. I'm one of these people that looks at before and afters and can't see a difference but this I can.

Technique is everything- unless it goes just under the skin (looks like large mozzie bites) it doesn't work. As I said it's not a filler.

Othering · 09/07/2020 16:41

Yep, Roger all that!! 2 rounds, just under skin etc etc. All it did for me was empty my bank account!

Immigrantsong · 09/07/2020 16:44

I have read Kybella is good for fat removal. That along with cryogenic lipolysis should help howls.

And tretinoin for generic firming.

Immigrantsong · 09/07/2020 16:44

Jowls not howls

Vodkacranberryplease · 09/07/2020 19:28

Oh no Othering! It's bloody expensive too! Proper jowl removal is of course a mini/macs facelift (not a thread lift). Much less obvious than a lot of fillers too. And maybe not even more expensive over time.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 09/07/2020 19:41

I’m not going to waste my money on expensive treatments that at best give a subtle result, I think a mini facelift is good value when you compare it to the cost of these multiple treatments mentioned.

Pleasance · 09/07/2020 22:40

Interested in how the mini lifts are carried out under local @DameDoom

Vodkacranberryplease · 09/07/2020 23:01

It's a sedated local. So half awake but not really. There's some very good Belgian surgeons (invented the MACs lift which is lower face and neck) and they do theirs without an overnight stay (you need to stay but not at a hospital).

Vodkacranberryplease · 09/07/2020 23:03

A lot do fat transfer at the same time which is great - makes the skin look much younger and lasts forever almost so is used to fill some areas.

Vodkacranberryplease · 09/07/2020 23:06

Just seen there's a highly recommended surgeon in York! Honestly it's so much more natural looking than a ton of fillers.

BlueSky2023 · 23/10/2023 15:26

i have heard you can get a Botox procedure in your neck called a nefertiti neck lift, they put Botox in the neck band muscles and under your chin along the jawline that weakens the neck muscles ( the ones that look like neck bands) so that they aren’t tight and stop pulling the face down, anyone have any experience of this?

it kind of makes sense when you think about it

Cathymaker · 19/11/2023 20:53

Just came across this. Exactly my experience. Utter waste of money. Ot has a very low satisfaction rate I've since discovered.
