I'm still missing that almondy smelling shampoo from the 70s / 80s - think it was Vidal Sassoon - in brown bottle :( Grin

Oh my goodness ...... I'm 14 again and buying The brown shampoo and the stone coloured conditioner Vidal Sassoon and smelling that smell and feeling sooooooooo sophisticated Grin

So - while we're here; who remembers FLEX. That bright yellow one. The smell of that was divine ...

DOP and Le Petit Marseillais have sweet almond scented shower gels/creams and possibly LPM has an almondy shampoo and conditioner too. You can buy them in France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal...and perhaps online too. They're not expensive.

@Laiste - I remember Flex. I used to use it and then go to the youth club and boys would flock around to smell my hair - seriously. Like a drug. Grin And my friends always used to inhale my hair and say it smelled amazing. What did they put in Flex? I'd love to know. It wasn't a smell you could explain. I always thought it smelled a bit like wet ash and bananas but that sounds disgusting and the overall effect was divine.

@monkeyonthetable yes i remember people would ask me what i smelt of when i was using flex. They thought it was a body spray or perfume. It was a super sweet smell. Sort of .... i don't know just thick sweet, warm deep but clean .... lol .... loveliness.

WHY don't they sell it anymore? It was by revlon. I've just googled and there is lots of Flex shampoos and conditioners on amazon - but only one in that familiar straight pillar shaped bottle. And it is a bit yellow looking ......

I love the smell of the L’Occitane almond range. But I think the shampoo strip did out off my hair a bit.

The dye

Not style & beauty but Method wood floor cleaner has this exact smell if you want to incorporate it into other parts of your life too Grin

SilverOtter · 05/07/2020 09:53

Another vote for L'Occitane. It smells delicious😍

bettsbattenburg · 05/07/2020 10:00

@monkeyonthetable

Yes L'Occitane is good. Aveda cherry almond shampoo.

And if you like your home to smell of almonds, Method's almond floor cleaner is divine.

Yes! I do the piano and coffee table with their almond wood polish and it's lovely.

I don’t know if they still do it as I haven’t shopped there in ages but akamuti used to do a rose hand cream that smelt incredibly strongly of marzipan.
Really, really strongly

frostedviolets · 05/07/2020 10:26

Totally different packaging (not as nice as the original) but they still do it!
Assuming it’s the same recipe that smells unmistakably of marzipan
