Dyson airwrap

I know it’s been done to death & I’ve read most of the old threads but I’ve been wanting one for ages but always been too put off by the price.
When I can get my hair done again I’ll be getting more extensions as my own hair is so thin and extensions have actually helped it grow loads as I’ve not used straighteners anywhere near as much when I’ve had extensions in also my hair is getting better condition.
I’ve read lots of stuff about Dyson being better for your hair and am also also trying to justify it breaking the cost down into how much use I’d get out of it.
Due to a disability I struggle to dry my hair without help (need help to hold dryer while I brush) but this would also solve this problem as I could easily manage it with the brush attachment.
Should I just go for it?

Hi. Buy it from QVC and then you can use it for however long and then send it back if you don't get on with it.
I've got one. I love it, but I don't use the Airwrap curling bits, so I really should have got the basic model.
So, yes, get it from QVC.

Have you looked at the Revlon One Step? That might be the answer, and it's only about £50. I have both the Airwrap and the Revlon brush, and as lovely as the Airwrap is, I always reach for the Revlon first.

I have the babyliss round brush thing but if gets tangled sometimes

Thanks love my airwrap but it’s much harder to use than the babyliss big hair

Shmithecat2 · 02/07/2020 18:05

@Justyou the One Step doesn't rotate, so tangling isn't an issue.

Justyou · 02/07/2020 19:17

That one step looks good, how is it on heat?
I was hoping to rescue years of bleached hair and start anew with the dyson Grin

In which ways is it harder? X

@Justyou it has hot or cold blast, and two speed settings. It's been kind to my hair.

Justyou · 02/07/2020 21:32

Thanks

I was a babyliss big hair girl. Love it but so frustrated that they die on me after a couple of years.
I got my airwrap in feb. I played with my sister's first and settled for the smooth and volume one. It took a bit of getting used to but I love it. My hair is quite fine and shoulder length with a few layers. If I dry it straight I don't need my straighteners. I can flip it out too. I like the curling things but have yet to perfect them staying in for any length of time. Hair silky and smooth.

Love my air wrap. I’ve perfected the curls, the trick is to start with damp hair, use a blow dry spray produce, use hot air to curl until dry, then switch to cold air for at least ten seconds. Gently release the curl and leave to go totally cold or as long as possible before separating them. Mine last ages and my hair usually drops a curl quickly.
Day to day I use the brush attachments to dry mine straight with a flick up or under depending on my mood.
It is a lot of money though, I was fortunate that mine was a present.

I love my air wrap. I have thick curly hair that I straighten so it's way less faff and my hair is in better condition. But also, I stopped colouring it, I've done the lockdown grow out and I am amazed at how much better condition the growth is in comparison with the ends that still have colour in.

Thank you all so much for the advice

I think I’m going to go ahead, I want it for drying mostly but definitely excited to maybe get lose waves if I can get the hang of it

I returned mine. Did not suit my bob length fine, frizzy hair. I really wanted to love this too.

I tried it extensively too to ensure I wasn't writing it off prematurely.
Ordered off QVC so was able to return.

I wrote a fair but honest very detailed review, which they said did not publish on the reviews page, so I do wonder if they only post the more flattering reviews.

I also have a Babyliss Big hair, but both the Big Hair and Dyson required a straightener to get that polished look on my hair.

nutterbutrunner · 03/07/2020 08:26

It will be a good investment :)

I bought mine from Amazon just because you can't beat them for returns if there's any issues.

But I heard qvc also do a good deal.

Justyou · 03/07/2020 09:05

Ah amazon price is even higher and seems to be the wrong item some people are receiving.
@nutterbutrunner That’s exactly what I’m trying to sell myself it as an investment- has your hair condition improved since using it?

OP posts:
ElizabethMainwaring · 03/07/2020 09:37

It's £665 at Amazon!
That's £225 more than QVC!

Justyou · 03/07/2020 11:22

Grin Amazon are usually so good too
