Giving up on the 'no poo' experiment! Which shampoo is best?

Haven't used shampoo since lock down. I have shoulder length, straight, thick hair which I dye (it needs it again now normal activities are resuming!) In lockdown I've used just water (still greasy); bicarb of soda (seems quite harsh and drying); vinegar (not sure if it helps).

Reading other posts I think no-poo works best for curly hair, not mine. I'd like to go back to using much more natural shampoo and/or conditioner. What are the best brands? Thanks!

I don't do no-poo anymore either - bicarb is vicious on hair, vinegar I didn't find so bad as a conditioning/cleansing rinse but it was a bit of a faff.

I use Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner now - sulphate free and various different types for dry/normal/oily. I've played around with various combinations, and what works for me now is only shampooing once a week, and using water and conditioner every two-ish days - seems to work for my thin straggly hair type!

Kerestase. It is expensive but a little goes a long way and the conditioners are remarkable.

I use New Wash and it’s great and cleansing my hair but not drying it. My hair is slightly wavy, lots of it but quite fine and I exercise every day so need something that does clean. It’s in great condition thanks to this and only air drying.

I’d love to know this too. New wash is soooo pricey. Is it really worth it?
