Swedish Architect fashion!

Someone used this phrase on a S&B thread the other day and it made me laugh, but it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.

I’ve lost two stone so far in lockdown and I’m hoping to lose one more before returning to the office. I’ll need to buy some new work outfits so I want to start thinking about that now to inspire me through the final stone.

My work style is “aspiring Swedish architect”! Grin - what I mean by that is fairly classic/smart shapes with an “edge” somehow- an asymmetry or something else. I generally wear blacks/greys/navys to work but now I’m lighter I’m willing to embrace other colours. It’s a corporate workplace- no jeans, trainers or hoodies etc.

Anyone got any ideas of brands I can start watching?

That should be the character Lisa in Bonus Family, my autocorrect did something weird there!

Live that dress and yes the black and pink look very different. I could never carry the pink as I am an inverted triangle shape and have a broad top anyway. Puff sleeves are my style nightmare.

So the dress has arrived... totally unlike the picture! It is basically identical to the pink one, so huge sleeves, puff, not a flat seam like the sample, and about twice as wide. This does infuriate me. The shape is fabulous aside from that. And it has pockets!

The fabric though... it's flagged as "organic cotton" and stupidly I didn't double-check the composition like I usually do, so it turns out to be 56% cotton 44% "Polyamide" (or "nylon" on the label) so comes out as a sort of taffeta effect. What with that and the puffed sleeves it's much dressier than I thought it would be.

I'd probably have kept anyway it if it weren't for the ruddy sleeves, the skirt and bodice are perfect. Ah well you can't win 'em all. And my bank balance is heaving a sigh of relief.

I'm aware that this isn't a recent thread, but I have thought of a few things I have that are scandinavian - Ten Points boots, Sand, and (scandi-ish) Two Danes.
I've tried to like the Uniqlo Marimekko stuff but not managed to like it when I saw it.

Ecco is Danish but a bit like Clarks or Hotter IMO, the odd thing great but a bit frumpy.
