hyaluronic acid recommendations?

I think this is what my skin needs but totally overwhelmed by what's available when I go to Amazon or Boots 🥴

Any pointers what to try (or to avoid)?

The ordinary do one, I think inkey do one too. I’ve read you need to pat it on the skin and leave to soak in or they can pill up but lots of products will pill up if you don’t give them time to soak in 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I always use lookfantastic or cult beauty et al, I think some mainstream products are terribly pricey.

I second either the ordinary or the inkey list. The key is to make sure your skin is damp when you apply it and then that you put a moisturiser on top otherwise it will do the opposite of its job and actually leave your skin drier.
I like to apply on top of the ordinary’s niacinamide and then just a moisturiser on top during the day and a retinol in the evening

To further support, the ordinary one is fab and so cheap. Didn't realise about skin being damp so thanks for that!

I personally don’t rate the Ordinary one, I find it gloopy. I like Vichy 89 serum or beauty pie do a nice one if you’re a member. But whichever one you get I definitely agree with putting it on damp skin, either straight after cleansing or use some sort of facial mist.

The ordinary it's really good, been using it for a month it's made so much difference.

Hada Labo is amazing. Available in superdrug.

Niod do a really good one if your skin is dry. My mum uses a Hada Labo one and that's supposed to be quite good.

Hada Labo Premium. You can get it on amazon or eBay from South Korea.

Hado Labo now in Superdrug. It’s fantastic.

I’ve read good things about Indeed Labs serum (available from Boots), haven’t tried it myself but am going to give it a whirl soon.

I’ve recently started using Nip Fab products and absolutely love them. I have glycolic and salicylic acid products. Will be purchasing their dragon serum next. My skin has never felt or looked better. Superdrug have great offers on their products too

NIOD is the best HA I've tried. The ordinary is cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for. It's leaves my skin feeling tight and uncomfortable

Vichy 89 serum. It's often on special offer.

Skinceuticals - pricey but worth it.

Skinceuticals, I use two, B5 serum and calming serum, not together though!

I use retinol daily in the evening and plan to use hyaluronic acid a.m. and p.m.

Someone recommended the Vichy 89 one to me and it is worth every penny (although I got it on offer). Boots do their own one at about £5 and I quite like it too.

The Niod HA is really nice. I also like the tan luxe one that has some self tan in it. Beauty Pies is affordable if you are a member but a bit thicker than the NIOD.

HA can be used every day, its not an exfoliating acid, don't get confused by the name.

And retinol can be used every day but it really depends on your skin and the strength/formula (ie an oil base will be gentler). A tip o heard was to use it 3 x a week in your 30s, 4 x in your 40s and so on...
