Oh, well deffo go for some of those fab, cheapy Tesco, Boots or whatever ones. There are some really funky ones around. Almost make me wish I needed them!

We will be eating Baked Beans (Tesco value ones) for the next year, by the way, after that expenditure. They do have to wear them all the time, though.

I tried some on in specsavers that were ovally shaped and turned up slightly at the ends.

Looked a tad Dame Edna on the rack but lookd FAB on.

Still regret notgetting them a bit.

No, YP, just the 2! There was a £600 pair for DH in that lot too. They are all unbelievably long-sighted (ranging from +7.5 to +9).

Have to admit that I was then at the expense, but they get ribbed enough about wearing glasses enough as it is, without them wearing specs that don't really suit them. Actually, it's not really the specs themselves that are so dear, it's the lenses, are because their prescription is so strong, they'd be like bottle bottoms if they didn't have the expensive, ground-down lenses.

God, I'd never spend that on myself, though! That was truly extreme and unfortunate that everyone needed new ones all at the same time. Did get about £90 each off the DDs's from the lovely NHS, though!

DH didn't really need new ones, IMO - he wears lenses most of the time too. But he's just turned 40 and is suddenly trying to look younger . He said they were a present to himself. Might try that with a Marc Jacobs handbag as a present for myself for my birthday, and see what he says.

But if you only need them for reading, then the lenses shouldn't be mahooosively expensive so you can spend more on the frames !

Nice look, Porpoise! BF at school wore exactly those, earrings and all. Bad enough being a spotty teenager without all that to contend with!

harleyd · 26/09/2007 13:52

lol
but you can still see through them when you're not reading surely

friendlyedjit · 26/09/2007 13:54
