Bikini to disguise the dreaded c section overhang

My youngest is now 10 (Shock How?!) and I’ve come to accept that this is the shape I’m left with!
I’m ok with it for the most part. In the last 10 years I’ve fluctuated between a size 8 (desperately miserable) and a 16 and am now a small 14 and whilst I’m happy enough with how I look in clothes, I hate the shelfy overhang thing from my 2 sections. It’s been a permanent fixture through all my sizes, and has never improved with exercise.
I’m hoping to go away for a week somewhere in the summer (COVID-19 depending as I’m a front line NHS worker and won’t be going anywhere if I think it’s too risky). I’d quite like to get a bikini for a change.
I’ve ordered about eleventy billion high waisted bikinis but all of them seem to showcase that shelfy bulge. I do have a tummy control swimsuit from next that flattens it out a bit so the shelf isn’t so obvious, but the tummy control bikini that I tried seemed to just be extra tight so that whilst my shelf was flatter, it all spilled out over the top of the bikini. It wasn’t pretty!

Sooooo. Has anyone found a bikini that makes you feel ok about the pooch?! My norks aren’t massive, so bonus marks if there’s an option for a strapless top too!

Have you tried any swim skirts?

I have the overhang too but haven't dared try a bikini yet - maybe next year!

There's lots with a ruffle round the bottoms which might disguise the situation.

The roll top ones are good.

I have been browsing at M&S and found this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/roll-top-bikini-bottoms/p/clp60377792?intid=mobileappppdpshare

I can vouch for this one with the foldover bottoms. Sorry it's not strapless. Their swimwear is every bit as good as Lise Charmel and Marie Jo in my opinion (particular for those of us who need a proper underwired top!)

Next have a few options where the foldover top is quite deep so you can adjust where you want the extra fabric to sit. Just put 'foldover brief' into the search bar.

Have a look at pour moi bikinis

MrsZola · 28/06/2020 17:16

Another vote for Pour Moi here.

Knew I could count on you all! Thank you Flowers
Loads of ideas here. It sounds like roll top might be the way to go.

Would a tankini be an option rather than a little bikini top? It still has the flexibility of separate pants/top but far more tummy control and more flattering in my case, with no overhang.

I think mine was from matalan and great value. Similar to this one:

I think swimsuits are usually much nicer than bikinis anyway
