🤷‍♀️ I seemed to buy a lot of mothercare with DS but that's no more.

I need basics for DD.
I've tried John Lewis & M&S where else do you buy packs of bodysuits and basics like leggings? I don't want to spend masses for things to get stained now she's weaning. Help please ?

Next stuff washes well. Sainsburys can be good if they have what you need in store. Asda are usually ok for little leggings but their vests are flimsy and wash out.

Next, H&M, Tesco

croberts1208 · 26/06/2020 14:06

Supermarkets. Sainsbury's stuff comes up big and Tesco comes up small. So buy the size she is in and Tesco will fit her at the beginning of the age group and Sainsbury's at the end. H&M and Zara do lovely bits but can be more expensive.

I agree - motheracre was super handy for me but now would suggest Tesco , Sainsbury’s, Asda, Boots, Mamas & Papas, Next, Matalan , Boden, Baby Gap - our of all those sale at Baby Gap or their outlet is prob best - the quality is pretty similar for all of them.

Sainsbury’s have really upped their game. Asda is also fine so long as you aren’t planning on reusing the clothes. If you are planning on reuse though I would stick to JL, JoJo, Joules and, frugi.

H&M, Zara, Sainsburys, Morrisons

ittooshallpass · 26/06/2020 14:56

Sainsbury's and Boots.

I was pretty impressed with the quality of some cheapie bodysuits I got in Morrisons.

As a PP says: it depends on whether you might need them again. If just one user, supermarkets are great, also H&M and Next.

GrumpyHoonMain · 26/06/2020 15:16

Boots has bought the Mothercare clothing brand. They will be selling it soon online and in-store

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/06/2020 15:20

I feel you OP- I’m pregnant and gutted the simple decent cheap mother care stuff is no more. Maybe it’s lockdown but the supermarkets don’t have half as much choice as they used to and I love next but it’s just that bit more expensive.

wonkylegs · 26/06/2020 15:31

Supermarkets for everyday stuff
M&S
Next
Second hand on premium brands - frugi , Jojo etc especially tiny baby stuff as it hardly gets worn.

I never got on with Mothercare - I found it to be expensive for what it was. I like H&M, Boots and Sainsbury's for basics and if I have a voucher / want to spend more, Next and Gap. Got DC1 a winter parka from next in 18-24 month size. Lasted them 2 winters for a taller than average sized toddler and then was passed onto DC2
