Dressing post c section shelf

I'm petite (size xs/small) and always had a bit of lower tummy but after DD c section a few years ago, I have a stubborn shelf which hasn't moved despite exercise and good diet.

I know you just have to accept that certain things aren't quite what they used to be post children but dressing a shelf is so frustrating.

The tailored chino shorts that Im wearing today are the perfect example. Despite them having enough room around the waist and hips - becuase of the shelf they pull across the tummy and hips. No trousers ever sit right and I have to size up to be comfortable.

Anyone come up with any ways of dressing the shelf? Or at least have a moan about it with me. Grin

Mine used to make my trousers twist - as in the waistband wandered further off centre as the day went on. No solution here I’m afraid, I’m just dressing like a frumpy old git.

Low cut trousers with long/drapy/casually tucked top, and skirts with a wide or no waistband.

Primark big pants. Stretchy but not tight. Pack of 3 for a fiver!!
Magic pants imo!!

How do big pants help @Sunnydayshereatlast? I'm generally trying to reduce the amount of underwear I wear to stop it rubbing against clothes Grin!

Give a smoother surface for the clothes to be against!! Couldn't be without mine!! Hold in but not restricting /too tight.
