I really want to find the perfume that is ME. I’m sure is out there somewhere, I just don’t know what it is. I like fresh, citrus smells - nothing cloying or heavy or sweet.

I really like DKNY woman, Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, Clarins Eau des Jardins, and l’eau par kenzo. They’re all lovely fresh perfumes but I don’t feel like any of them are The One.

Help me, oh wise ones - what else might I like?!

Issey Miyake, L'eau D'issey citrusy, gorgeous and light

Icepinkeskimo · 26/06/2020 18:25

So what I'm picking up here is something fresh with fresh citrus notes.
When you say fresh so you mean aquatic, woody? Green?
And a layer of citrus as the top note?
Fragrance is purely personal what will smell divine on one person will reflect differently on another's skin.
Let me know and I might be able to suggest something.

I bought Givenchy Libre last week. It reminds me of L'Interdit.

MooMinCow · 26/06/2020 18:55

I’ve been loving the 4711 original eau de cologne. Lovely and refreshing in the heat - Cheap, doesn’t last long but that means I can spritz liberally during the day!

Mere1 · 26/06/2020 19:31

Jo Malone Pear And Freesia will be a perfume you love.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 26/06/2020 19:32

Hugo Boss Woman is lovely.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 26/06/2020 19:33

I was also going to say Jo Malone, so many scents and combos.

Shinebright72 · 26/06/2020 19:33

YSL mon Paris is my absolute favourite!

Louise91417 · 26/06/2020 19:35

You seem to like the same perfumes as myself so maybe Calvin klein Truth...

Mere1 · 26/06/2020 20:00

Versace Vent Vert is a fresh ‘green’ perfume I always receive compliments on when wearing.

Ranorman45 · 26/06/2020 22:38

Eau de lancome,or Dior escale do portofino sound like the fragrances you lovr

rookiemere · 26/06/2020 22:47

Try Calyx now by Clinique. It is very citrusy and unique.

masterchef98 · 26/06/2020 23:15

Mine is j'adore. I work in town and basically every time I went out for lunch I'd spray a perfume on each wrist until I found one I liked at the time and lasted. You have lots of suggestions so I think some trial runs would be a good idea.

janetmendoza · 26/06/2020 23:20

L'occitaine Verbena and Clinique Happy

MissBattleaxe · 26/06/2020 23:29

Hi, I'm a perfume blogger and you've had lots of excellent suggestions here. It sounds like you enjoy Hesperides, which are usually citrus or citrus and neroli. Lancome O de Lancome L'Orangerie or the original O de Lancome, Chanel Cristalle (wore it for 20 years exclusivly) , Clarins Eau Dynamisante or Eau Ressourcante, Clinique Happy, Estée Lauder Pleasures, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, The Scent Doctor Neroli, L'Occitane Verbena, 4160 Tuesdays Ealing Green, Avon Eve Truth. These are off the top of my head.

I also recommend The Perfume Society Discovery Box es. They're under £20, you don't have to subscribe and they are packed with samples you'd never be able to gather yourself. It's a great way of trying a new perfume and not coming home from Boots smelling of six different ones. (Guilty). If you want any more ideas my blog is www.iscentyouaday.com .

Burberry Touch
Beyoncé Heat
Gucci Guilty

MamaLion1319 · 26/06/2020 23:43

Yellow diamonds by Versace

Aus66 · 27/06/2020 02:05

I recommend Dior’s Diorissimo. It’s one of Dior’s original perfumes (I think it was released in the 1950s) and so goes under the radar in terms of promos and pictures of beautiful women wearing it. It’s based on Lily of the Valley, is incredibly fresh and people always comment on it asking me what perfume it is. My mother used Diorissimo, I wear it and now my daughter wears it. I believe it was a fave of Princess Diana and that she wore it on her wedding day.

AllThreeWays · 27/06/2020 02:57

@snappycamper
"Very expensive but neroli portofino by Tom Ford is my absolute favourite citrus perfume." "
I had high hopes for this perfume as I love neroli, but once I smelled it I decided it is almost exactly like good old 4711

copperoliver · 27/06/2020 03:09

Chanel Deau Ville. X

CarrieMoonbeams · 27/06/2020 03:18

In summer, I use Versace The Dreamer (currently half price in Boots, so now £28). It's actually an aftershave, and reading the description of it on their website bears no relation to how I think it smells, but it's worth a sniff if you're passing.

It's a very light lemony scent on me, I love it.
