Any good? Who buys cos?

The use a lot of natural fibres which I love. I think it’s really good quality, and probably the best on the high street. However, treat the knitwear with caution as it can shrink, so I tend to have those pieces dry cleaned.

I’ve been wearing COS for over 15 years, and still wear some of the first items I bought.

LunaTheCat · 21/06/2020 15:52

Much better quality than most on the high street. Lots silk, cotton and natural fibres.

mizzles · 21/06/2020 16:29

Honestly night and day compared with other high street stuff at a similar price. Just lovely.

coronafashionista · 21/06/2020 16:34

Ah this is good, thank you.

I bought a beautiful COS top about 8 years ago. Still current and still beautiful. It held up so well.

Bloodylovecheese · 21/06/2020 20:59

I love the quality...yes its a bit more pricey than normal high street but the clothes wash and wear really well.
Definitely worth the money

Cos is the sister brand of H&M and gets made in the same factories.

I would say the fabric is of a much better quality than H&M but sometimes the stitching lets Cos down. But as long as you know a good seamstress then their stuff is a good buy.

EmmelineGreen · 21/06/2020 21:40

I find the quality very very good, especially knitwear.

The items I have from there always survive any culls or clearouts because they still look good even if I don’t wear them that often anymore.

bluebellation · 21/06/2020 22:10

I agree, Cos is the one brand I go back to time and again. The only thing I've had from them I've got rid of in the 6 or so years I've been buying , was because I got bleach on it . Everything else is still going strong, shirts, sweaters, tops. Very good value for money.

mrsrhodgilbert · 22/06/2020 14:25

Excellent quality although they have introduced a few new fabrics recently so it’s not all pure cotton, linen, wool anymore. I’ve also had issues with stitching coming undone. However it is the only shop I am really keen to get back into to have my little fix. I’ve made a few online sale purchases which have been successful, you get to know what will suit you after a while. The styling on the website is designed to put off purchases I think

StellaRockafella · 22/06/2020 15:40

While it’s true they are using more ‘technical’ fabric, their words, not mine, I still find them to be better quality and far less sweaty than the usual polyester or poly-blend.

I think with COS, those who love it, really love it. We all know to take the way the clothes are modelled on the website with a pinch of salt.

As the PP said, you get to know what suits you after a while. Indeed, I was able to buy a few pieces online in the sale and all fitted perfectly. If you’re near a store, go in, they have a glut of sale stock as so few people are going shopping!

Rua13 · 22/06/2020 15:46

I like that their summer dresses have pockets.

Floisme · 22/06/2020 16:00

The quality is the best I know at that price point. I wish I could say the same for their 'too cool to display the clothes properly' website.
It's now several years since I was converted to Cos but this still pisses me off. If they had a branch in every city and large town, or conversely if they were a small start up, then I would make allowances, but a company owned by Hennes and Mauritz has no excuse.

mrsrhodgilbert · 22/06/2020 16:49

Ah but it stops it becoming too popular Floisme and I’m quite happy that it’s not on every high street

Floisme · 22/06/2020 16:58

Why though? If I like a shop, I don't care how popular it is.

Supersimkin2 · 22/06/2020 17:05

Cos quality is as good as Joseph and a tenth of the price.

All clothes get made in the same factories - from primark to m and s - all high street retailers use the same ones. Some designers use Italian factories but that's it.

The difference lies in the specifications the retailer gives the factory floor for each garment and the quality of the fabric and cut.
