Going grey during lockdown. What shampoo or magical potion can I use to help rid my hair of existing dye?

Happily going grey and have about two inches of grey now. Am surprised how much I like it.

Problem is the rest of my hair which is a dull dyed mousey brown. I seem to recall that some shampoos have reputation for stripping colour out of dyed hair. Anyone know which ones?

Natural remedies include Vit C white vinegar honey tea tree oil - Head & Shoulders helps to strip colour too

It’s head and shoulders that you’re after

Please don’t use washing up liquid. I have a feeling someone might suggest this in the future as it gets suggested here a lot. For various reasons, it shouldn’t be used on your hair.

Also I’m not sure if shampoo alone is enough to stripe the dye out of your hair, permanent hair dyes will leave a stain

You want this www.boots.com/colour-b4-hair-colour-remover-extra-strength-10096605

Head and shoulders works if you have just dyed your hair and want to tone it down, but it won't remove old dye. Hair colour remover does not take the old dye out leaving your hair your natural colour either; it is best used when you are going to re-dye it another colour.
Unfortunately there is no way of just removing hair dye so that your hair is back to it's natural state. Otherwise you would never see people with a line because they are growing out colour, or putting up with bad dye jobs.

Head and shoulders. I used a combination of things to remove a supposedly semi permanent green hair dye I used at the beginning of lockdown- someone described it online as hair dye kryptonite. It included a generous amount of head and shoulders, crushed vitamin C tablets, squirt of washing up liquid and a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda. Anyway, it did the trick nicely...

Had to leave on for 15-20 minutes

The colour remover shampoo sounds interesting. Wonder if I dare try it Shock
