Not too expensive serum?

Can anyone recommend a good hydrating and anti-aging serum that doesn't a huge amount? I would love something luxurious and plumping that is £30 or under. I'm asking for too much, aren't I?

Hada Labo lotion. Don't use it with cotton pads likd a toner, slather it on like a runny serum. Its brilliant. Hyaluronic acid.

ClattyPat · 19/06/2020 19:02

Will that only hydrate? I want something that will do everything - make my skin glow, plump, wrinkle-free...!
Or should I look for 2 serums? Hyaluronic one and an anti-aging one? I'm 53 with rather dull, dry skin.

Ooh that brands is on offer in Superdrug. I'll give that a go. Thank you!

The Ordinary Buffet has hylauranic acid and lots of antiageing ingredients and works really well.

ClattyPat · 19/06/2020 19:08

Thanks, Pedro but I didn't think much of the Buffet when I tried it. Very good value though.

Have you tried the Ordinary Argireline or Mayryxyl? They are really good. For 30 pounds you can try a few actually.

I love Holy Grail, it's a 5 in 1 serum, non greasy and makes my skin glow! Under £30 just

TheCanterburyWhales · 19/06/2020 19:13

Hyaluronic is in most serums that bill themselves as hydrating or you could get just hyaluronic.

Superdrug Simply Pure hydrating costs about a fiver and is often on bogof and is one of the nicest hydrating ones I've tried. A lot will have silicone that will make your skin "pill" but this doesn't.

Vichy Aqualia and 89 minerals are also basically hyaluronic but you don't need to pay that much for a HA serum.

Buffet has the consistency of runny snot which made me end up leaving it in the cupboard Grin

If you want more than one serum the other you're looking for is. Vit C. Garden of Wisdom are fairly cheap. I love the Vichy one and won't change from that but it's about £20.

I'm using Aldi's, £6, as good as my £50 previous one

ClattyPat · 19/06/2020 19:19

I have just ordered the Hada Labo while it is on offer. I see the Holy Grail (which is what I'm looking for in a serum!) do a sample pack & I'll give that a go as well. I do love Vichy products but might wait until I can test things again. Same goes for the Ordinary products recommended above - I have bought a few in the past as they are relatively cheap but haven't wanted to buy anything again.

Thanks for everyone's help. Much appreciated.

I'm going to have investigate Aldi skincare! Someone recommended it as a dupe for the Puxi rose tonic.

Aldi caviar cream is amazing.

Lovely old fashioned rose and glycerine is fab if you don't want Pixi prices.
