How do I dress after baby and change in body shape?

I recently had a c section and my body shape has changed in that I’m now a size 12 on top but a large squishy 14 on the bottom with a visible tyre around the hips where the overhang is.

It’s hot and I spend all day getting sweaty as the only things I fit into are leggings and long tops and any dresses I’ve tried on just show off the overhang underneath

How will I ever find a style to suit my new body shape and be able to get out of leggings again?

Congratulations on the new baby. How long ago was it? Your body will keep changing for quite a while so don’t be too frustrated with your current shape.
Not sure what dresses you have tried but there are quite a few loose tiered dresses at the moment especially places like Zara, hush, arket. Have you thought about these? I’ll find some links to show you what I mean...

C section was 4 weeks ago now

Those dresses are lovely but I’m always wary of something oversized making me look even larger as I’m only 5ft4.

I saw the forecast for next week and the temperatures of 29degrees gave me a shiver down my spine that it just never be able to dress for it

I'm in the same boat! I'm now 6 weeks post section and the good news is, the tyre has reduced a bit since week 4 - although like you I'm still a 12 on top and 14 on bottom at the moment. This is my second section though and the overhang is definitely worse this time!

I have a couple of these m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0816166001.html they are floaty but dont make me look larger and they skim nicely over the tyre Grin I'm 5ft 3 and they're a good length on me, not too short!

I've also got some stretchy sweatpant style shorts like these m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0879248001.html which are good for wearing around the house, as they're not tight around the middle!

I say when its hot and you're post partum go for comfort and things to keep you cool!

4 weeks is still such early days. It really does take time.

It's hard, isn't it. I've been there. It took about a year before I could dress like myself again.

Floaty dresses are great but theres also an element of just accepting it for the moment and going for comfort. It's only temporary.

Congrats on both yourself and Witchita.

It’s times like this where I wish my husband was of a large build so I could just borrow a shirt of his to wear around the house when it’s hot

Alas he is far slimmer than I
