Looking to switch from Dramatically Different Gel

Evening, I’ve been using Clinique dramatically different gel for years along with clinique’s anti blemish soap bar. It feels like it’s time for a change. This is a typical photo of me the other morning. Oily, red skin. I would really appreciate your recommendations.

I would suggest a gentle cleansing balm - there are lots but you could switch to the Clinique Take The Day Off which is unscented and does a great job of removing make up, SPF etc Massage it in and remove with a warm flannel. You might also benefit from a light serum, perhaps with hyaluronic acid for hydration. And I know it sounds potty given that you have oily skin but you might want to try a nourishing face oil. A squalene based oil could be a good option and The Inkey do an affordable one. Try not to get locked into the hype around The Ordinary product range. Yes it’s affordable and yes they do some good products, but there are so many great products out there like Jordan Samuel, The Inkey, Dr Jart, La Roche Posay etc

I switched to Avene as it was on offer one time! I like the Avene products. But I rather miss the feel and the simplicity of the gel.

They have a nice micellar water cleanser and a gentle toner. The light Hydrance moisturiser is good and comes in plain and with SPF 20 versions, which I like because I only use sunscreen when it’s sunny.

What do you take your makeup off with?
Your skin looks angry (almost sunburned)but not blemished.
Look at Avene, La Roche Posay, Cetaphil, Cerave etc both for cleansing (double cleanse, once to remove makeup and once to cleanse your skin) and moisturising. Use a high SPF.

@TheCanterburyWhales - I am definitely not sunburnt. I work as a Skin Cancer Nurse as such as very diligent with using sunscreen. I don’t ever wear any make up on my face. This is just my usual complexion 😕

I will check out all the other recommendations- thank you

Oooh right. I'd definitely look at La Roche Posay then- Toleriane is for very sensitive.

Have you thought about niacinamide serum? It has made a huge difference to the redness/texture of my skin. I use The Ordinary but there are lots of brands available. I use 3 drops under my moisturiser. It also stops me going shiny through the day.
I use the Aldi Lacura Caviar day cream over the top and it doesn't make me greasy or give me blackheads like lots of moisturisers do. You could also try a hyaluronic acid 'lotion' - I like the Hada Labo one. You can get it from Superdrug or amazon.
