I’m having foot issues - Morton’s neuroma and bursitis. I work in a job that requires me to look kinda smart (quirky is fine) so no trainers. And I’m on my feet all day.

I live in Skechers trainers at the moment. But I want something cute and super comfortable and suitable for work.

I need your recommendations please!

Flyflot and Pavers do spectacularly ugly shoes, though a few aren’t too terrible, but OMG the comfort is unsurpassable. They got me through a period of plantar fasciitis and. I will be forever grateful. Very supportive and like walking on a cloud.

I’ve had a look and they really are spectacularly ugly. Maybe the Pavers at a push. Are they nice and wide at the toe end?

Have you considered barefoot shoes? I mean minimalist, zero-drop, plenty of room in the toe box, thin flexible soles... the idea is to allow the foot to move in a similar way to barefoot walking. I switched over to barefoot styles a few years ago and will never look back!

Vivobarefoot are probably the best known brand with mainstream styles (look like normal shoes, feel a million times comfier) and they have a "try barefoot" scheme that's worth checking out if you're new to barefoot shoes. Camper Peu (and only the peu line) are also pretty good but may not be formal enough for work. I also love Groundies (German brand with a terrible name but great shoes and boots). Check out the adult range on on happylittlesoles.co.uk for some more ideas, and there's a UK-based blog called Baresteps that's good also - some brands can look pretty clunky (soft star!) but not all so it's definitely worth looking around.

Have you tried Fitflops. I wear their Allegra ballet flats for work. Extremely comfortable for my wide and battered feet.

Try Clarks softwear soles or M&S insolia flex.
