moondog · 23/09/2007 21:49

Depends on t'flowers.

TheDuchess · 23/09/2007 21:49

I think if you have to ask the question you already know the answer

massivebigpantsface · 23/09/2007 21:51

I don't think that many people would notice tbh.
Personally I prefer fresh flowers, but as a wedding guest my eyes are on the bride and groom (and cake )

kitsandbits · 23/09/2007 21:54

Some of them do look quite real - my mum had fake & kept hers.

real ones are really expensive

i wouldn't worry about it, people will not remember the day for the flowers! And anyway, its your day, you won't give a monkeys about the flowers later, The main thing is that you enjoy yourselves

lucykate · 23/09/2007 22:11

i had fake ones, they were cheaper, i did them all myself (my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids, 20 buttonholes) if you choose carefully, they can look really nice.

kitsandbits · 23/09/2007 22:16

something like this??

I had silk flowers & did them myself too lucykate. I still have my bouquet & a table centrepiece & my mum & mil both have table centres too. I have a couple of wedding pics on my profile & I think they looked okay (although they were my 1st attempt & the ones I did for my auntie & sil were a million times better).

GreebosWhiskers · 23/09/2007 22:21

kitsandbits - that's what mine were like but the centre flowers were wine to match my dress

TheYoungVisiter · 23/09/2007 22:22

I think it could look a little tacky if you try to make them look like real flowers - but if they are stylised paper flowers it could look ok iykwim?

Personally I'd rather carry one real flower than a bouquet of fake ones - but I'd happily not have flowers at all on the tables. I've been to weddings where they had just candles, another where they had little pot plants, another where they had bunches of heather and lavender from from the PIL's garden, another where they had branches cut from trees...

any of those appeal?

But at the end of the day it's your wedding - do whatever you feel comfortable with.

kitsandbits · 23/09/2007 22:22

i think they look ok (the ebay ones)

yours look lovely - you were brave to do them yourself

im not having a reception - just a party so no flowers on tables anyway

just my boquet and 4 bridesmaids & a few button holes.

TheYoungVisiter · 23/09/2007 22:23
