Retinol to the rescue?

I’m going through a separation this past year and my skin has taken a hammering. I’ve got in to a better routine & am using a glycolic acid toner.

I have new fine lines on my cheeks, crow’s feet, 11s, frown lines etc. I’m 40. I’ve started using the Ordinary 0.2% retinol. I also bought the Ordinary 1% (I think it was 1%). Is this the best way to go for fighting wrinkles? I’ve had no reaction to the 0.2% (good or bad) so far and I use it every second night. I started about a month or two ago.

Is retinol the cure for grieving skin? 🤷🏽‍♀️

What is Dermatica?

OP- if you want a retinol start with a lower one and move up. The fabulous skincare threads have cheat sheets which are amazingly informative about skincare.

Be aware of anything containing something called granactive retinol - it works out at such a miniscule active ingredient it's hardly worth using and naughty of the manufacturers to suggest otherwise.

I use Garden of Wisdom 1% having used pure tret (tret IS retinol) before. I like the serum consistency of the GOW. (As well as the price)

Vit C and an acid toner- will make the biggest general difference to skin. I love the Vichy Vit C and am on my third bottle
You don't need to spend a fortune on acid toners. I've had various ones and my favourite is Olay which isn't even called an acid toner- but anti wrinkle toner.

@TheCanterburyWhales - Dermatica are the online dermatology company who supply tret. Highly reputable and a good price point. Tret is not the same as retinol strictly speaking. Tret is Vit A and retinol is a derivative of vit A.
