I've always had a natural wave but for years have straightened. After baby number three I lost tons of hair and it all grew back really frizzy.
So recently I've ditched the brush and embraced the wave. However my hair is quite frizzy and also goes weird in humidity. I'm used to straight styling products. I haven't a clue where to start or what to use. Hair spray? Mousse? Salt spray? Oil? I've been using coconut oil to de tangle but it has silicones. I'd prefer silcone free. I think?
Help. I don't know where to start!

I haven't had mine blowdried in a salon for years, just have a wet cut.

I have naturally wavy hair too. I allow it to dry naturally (sometimes in a plait) and I occasionally use salt spray. I got a really effective texture spray but it stank so I wouldn't actually recommend it! But they do work. I love having waves with the option of straightening it when I feel like it. Win win.

I don't know much about the curly hair method but if it's a lot of effort, I don't think I'd be up for it. Grin

My hairdresser told me to use conditioner, with gel mixed into it on my hand, if I liked, and scrunch it into the hair.

If you are using oil like castor oil or coconut oil, a little goes a very long way.

The CG method confuses me. I have wavy hair probably a bit more wavy but very similar to your photo OP. I tend to use Kerastase shampoo & conditioner & let it dry naturally then a bit of serum. Nice & easy!

I had frizzy wavy hair and found that by following Curly girl properly my hair was actually curly. In a lot of cases wavy hair is damaged curly hair.

In terms of products I use silicone free shampoo / conditioner / curl cream (Ogyx), and a leave in conditioner / detangler (Aussie).

I’ve followed cgm over a year now and my hair is great condition and I only need wash every three days, it’s actually better the next day as not so soft. I don’t shampoo ... or if I do it’s a low po baby one. I’m currently using asiam coconut co wash from boots and it’s lovely. The floral and curl activator is really lightweight and their gel. You can also wash with cheaper products such as Superdrug own conditioner and others too. There is a cg method fb page that has pics of approved products. I find cantu too heavy on mine.

Wow more recommendations. Thank you! I'll be looking them all up this morning when the baby naps.
Well i woke this morning with even bigger waves and slight curls. I put a tiny bit of mousse in and scrunched for a bit.

I brush my hair before I wash it. Then let it dry naturally, I use a salt spray and ruffle up the hair while it's damp.

Haven't used a hairdryer or straighteners since pre lockdown. It's looking very dry though, I probably need to deeply condition. Salt spray probably doesn't help?

Ooh interesting thread! I have hair that cane back different after chemo regrow this and it's now long and very wavy. I've been attempting to encourage the wave as I like it a lot. So I need a micro fibre turban and basically leave it alone? I already use aveda products which I can't change ; allergies, I can't face trying a whole new load) . Would that stop it being frizzy which is a new thing for me ( but I'm also now post menopausal whic May have made it frizzy)

I found this the other day. It explains why I'm not having any success with the CG method. Going off the info given, I'm definitely suffering with protein overload. All my CG products have coconut oil in yet my hair is still a dry brittle mess with lank, misshapen waves. I honestly just thought CG wasn't for me!

There are a lot of great products and suggestions on this site and they all seem to be UK friendly which is something I've always struggled to find.
