Is this really as amazing as everyone says? Does it lighten sun spots? Would love some honest reviews. Thank you

Not watched the video but have owned it- I think it's just hype to be honest, as with most CT stuff. It's just a very rich heavily scented claggy moisturiserwith a few dubious ingredients if you've got sensitive or breakout prone skin. It did very little for me and I ended up using it up as a night cream because make up wasn't sitting sell over it.

I can imagine if your skin is very dry with no sensitivities and you enjoy the sensation of a heavy moisturiser on the skin then it could suit. Horses for courses and all. I don't think it's worth anything near its price point though.

DaisyRenton18 · 09/06/2020 12:07

For me, it was a massive disappointment that brought me out in spots both times I tried to use it. Maybe I should have peservered but it was greasy and I just didn't like it enough to see if my skins settled with it. Worked alright on my legs though (couldn't bear to throw it away!).
Love CT makeup, but really not a fan of the skincare.

DaisyRenton18 · 09/06/2020 12:09

I meant skin, obviously, not skins. I am not a snake Hmm.

Tartyflette · 09/06/2020 12:12

I didn't find it at all magical. I used it up but wouldn't buy it again.
Weird scent and oddly stiff. Perhaps that's what meant to do the 'firming' job.

Quarantimespringclean · 09/06/2020 13:27

I was given a very generous free sample pot when CT first launched here. I found it very over scented and had an unpleasant texture. It was hard to apply to the face as the very heavy cream just sat on the surface, it didn’t even seem to melt in with body heat. It didn't make any discernible difference to my skin at all. I kept the jar for about a year out of respect for its massive retail value but in the end I binned it.

IMO there is a lot of hype around CT. I bought quite a few things when it was launched and have not been overly impressed. The Chameleon eye sticks were particularly poor - they were hard and scratchy and dried out to the point they were unusable within a few months. The only CT product I’ve bought and loved was the Amazing Grace lipstick and I think that’s largely because my granny’s name was Grace!

Alvertan · 09/06/2020 14:08

I’m gullible and bought the magic cream and the goddess skin mask. Nothing to write home about, magic cream is heavy and makes my visible pores worse. Mask does nothing at all.

midwestsummer · 09/06/2020 14:14

My MIL who often buys nice creams for me as presents got me some.
I think it is horrible.
Unpleasant smell, makes me get lots of small pimples and thus makes texture of my skin really nasty.
Ive tried to use the large pot I've been given but really need to get something else.

Fallulah · 09/06/2020 14:15

I bought the cream, the eye cream and the goddess cleansers.
Absolutely no difference after three weeks. I’ll go back to body shop camomile cleanser and Nivea day cream when it all runs out.
On the plus side, they accidentally put in a free mascara which is quite nice!

midwestsummer · 09/06/2020 15:18

Forgot to add, if it is meant to deal with sun spots that is why MIL will have got it for me. My freckles are turning into them.
No difference at all after using almost the whole pot.

Littlepurpleflower · 09/06/2020 15:24

Not the cream, but I am using the magic serum and I like it very much. The smell reminds me of Spanish hotels that I used to go on holiday to when I was little (in a good way). My skin looks more polished but that is probably not the info you are after.

applepineapple · 09/06/2020 15:24

Very expensive and all hype. I would put your money into a separate retinol treatment from Paulas Choice and a cheaper moisturiser like Cerave

LakeTittyHaHa · 09/06/2020 20:28

I second the above poster regarding Paula’s Choice. I’ve been using it for four weeks and honestly my skin is ah-mazing!

Alsohuman · 09/06/2020 20:41

CT is all fur coat and no knickers. Magic cream is the most overhyped product of the lot.

WarriorsComeOutToPlayay · 09/06/2020 20:43

It is over scented and just hype

Littlepurpleflower · 09/06/2020 23:54

PLease tell me more about Paula’s choice, especially the day cream. I have been using La Roche Posay spf 30 this spring but I am very tanned on my face which I haven’t had before with trusty Boots No 7. Is the Paula’s Choice moisturiser a good sun screen as well?

Franticbutterfly · 09/06/2020 23:57

Most of CTs products are a huge disappointment to me. I would go for a brand with more science behind it.

Alwaysthesun · 10/06/2020 09:41

It really stings my eyes for some reason. I have a fairly decent sized sample pot. I use it occasionally but every time my eyes end up stinging and watering. There's something in there that doesn't agree with me. I can have sensitive skin, but I've not had a moisturiser bother me before (well that I can currently remember based on 2 cups of coffee!).

Dinnertime22 · 10/06/2020 09:57

The products always smell odd to me. I have not been impressed and would avoid in the future.

Lily193 · 10/06/2020 10:13

It seems to suit my skin and is a good base for my make up. I've repurchased from time to time but I'm still searching for my perfect day moisturiser. I've tried lots of the recommendations on here such as Paula's Choice, Cerave, Aldi, Weleda, La Roche Posay etc and can't say I've found any of them to be that good.

LefttoherownDevizes · 10/06/2020 12:45

I have it and find very little difference between that and Astral tbh - it's' that similar thick/heaviness and level of perfume (but different smell)

Littlepurpleflower · 11/06/2020 08:40

Have you tried Kiehls or Estée Lauder lily? Also, the Sarah Chapman SPF 15 is very good. I work on the principle that day time is for protection (spf) and night time is for repair.

Caroline Hirons is a great source for skincare info. I use her pixi double cleanse and my skin looks softer and clearer.

ButDoUAvocado · 11/06/2020 10:27

My friend loves the Magic Cream and raves about it, she spends a fortune on CT but she has normal skin that she can put anything on.
Mine is so sensitive that I wouldn’t risk using anything other than my usual go to brands.
I do really like the Chameleon Eye Pencil though (Bronze Garnet), the colour is beautiful and lasts all day but the pencil needs sharpening so often that it runs out too quickly and it’s not cheap.
I also bought the Enigmatic Edward lip balm when it was on offer. It is really, really good and my lips feel moisturised for ages afterwards but I probably wouldn’t buy at full price.

Fox43 · 13/06/2020 03:12

The magic cream for me is just a basic hydrating cream. It's thick so you don't need much but it's not greasy at all.
I would recommend it.
