Gym Leggings... Surely I'm not asking too much?

vaz119 · 09/06/2020 09:41

I'm looking for gym Leggings...I had about 8 pairs of myprotein leggings (heartbeat) that are done but I cant seem to find a decent replacement? I'm starting to feel what I'm looking for might not be possible.... Any suggestions more than welcome

Must be...
Black (no writing on the leg)
Not shiny
Not see through when I bend over
And hopefully less than £30
And bonus points for help to smooth my cellulite (am dreaming right?)
I have a small waist to hip/arse ratio so anything that I don't spend every 2 seconds pulling up is a must.

Please help 🤣

Under armour all the way. Unfortunately they love branding

Swifty2 · 09/06/2020 09:44

I buy Nexts own brand leggings, I think they are £15-£20. They are that sweat wicking material but aren't shiny! They are never see through and are nice and long and also high waisted. I'd literally never buy any others now, they're such good value for money! Plus have a pocket at the back of the waist which is really handy!

MinesaPinot · 09/06/2020 11:24

My leggings, which I wear for ballet and zumba are either Sainsbury's Th or Primark. Good quality, comfortable and stand up well to lots of washing. My gym bunny boss swears by Sweaty Betty, but she would because she's loaded.....

Puddlejuice · 09/06/2020 11:42

Tesco gym leggings are fab, they wash well, dry like a dream, don't shine, lovely wide waistband, and cost about £15

danuta22 · 09/06/2020 12:36

I've got m&s ones that I like, they were about £28

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 09/06/2020 15:23

I love my Decathlon ones, and they have a nice big pocket built into the thigh that fits my iPhone 8 so I don't need to wear a thing on my arm. They were less than £20 and have no noticeable branding on them. Definitely going to get another pair for myself.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 09/06/2020 15:38

I was going to say Lululemon until I saw the less than £30 bit! They’re worth the investment though.

LipstickForADogwalk · 09/06/2020 17:51

For that price, ASOS do some fab squat proof ones (but Lululemon all the way if you’re prepared to spend more!)

VelvetRibbon · 09/06/2020 18:41

These ones- I promise. They tick all your boxes and are v matte black and smoothing.

They've got good reviews which is reassuring to read. I've got about 4-5 pairs of varying length/waistband and my first pair lasted 5 years+ (and I used them for paddleboarding). Be warned the other high waist and extra strong ones they do really are that! I prefer them a little more comfy for lounging around the house.

VelvetRibbon · 09/06/2020 18:43

Oh and I have a similar body shape too and find they stay up

granadagirl · 09/06/2020 18:47

Sainsburys black leggings I find great, not see through , Matt waist band not to wide
Nice material £10
Probably better going in store, as there sold out on line last time I looked

Htbrinks · 09/06/2020 19:15

How about these ones.
I know what you mean though it's hard to replace ones when you get used to them.

DieSchottin93 · 09/06/2020 19:42

I really like USA Pro leggings.

LakeTittyHaHa · 09/06/2020 19:48

Next own brand are actually quite good, currently I like Brooks leggings. Nice and thick with no sagging, completely plain, non-shiny. Nice big waist band that doesn’t roll down.

thetrolleywitch · 09/06/2020 20:58

I've had some brilliant ones from Amazon-
These are a lighter, shinier material which is good for this time of year:

CRZ YOGA Women's Naked Feeling Gym Leggings Squat Proof High Waist Yoga Pants Sports Tights with Pocket-25 Inches https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07R658Q5X/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_YK-3EbQY08BPP

These are a bit thicker but obviously warmer. I live in them!

CRZ YOGA Women's Matte Brushed... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082B65RGD?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

Both have really good phone pockets on the leg and have an adjustable waist so they don't fall down. They also come in actual dress sizes which makes it less of a gamble to order!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 09/06/2020 21:10

I'm very fussy about gym/running bottoms and expect good performance for my £. For budget either Nike in the sale of H & M are excellent, I've a plain black pair I got about 5 years ago and they're still going strong.

Beetlebum1981 · 09/06/2020 21:12

I bought these recently and they're fab, I love them! www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-alphaskin-tech-tights-ladies-347305#colcode=34730503

fluffi · 09/06/2020 21:33

+1 for M&S, no branding, matt black, normally have a flat cord drawstring so good if you have a smaller waist and would otherwise find leggings falling down. And under £30. Great coverage for running, squats, deadlifts etc.

wowfudge · 09/06/2020 21:35

I've been impressed with M&S Go Train cropped leggings I got recently and the shorts. They have a waist tie inside them too.

vaz119 · 11/06/2020 10:05

Absolutely amazing... Can't thank you all enough... Some brilliant suggestions, and lots of choice!

I'm a bit old for 'branded' but find the shiny ones really cheap and unflattering.

I've had both underarmour and USA pro in my younger years but not seen any about
recently without lots of obvious logos.

@Swifty2 and @granadagirl the next ones look perfect but sadly out of stock in my size... I'll keep an eye on them cause I've got a next voucher!

@Htbrinks and @thetrolleywitch.. Thanks for the amazon links! I'm always a bit wary of amazon because I've had problems with returns... But these look good

@VelvetRibbon... I think you win... These are exactly what I'm looking for!

I'll report back when I've worn them

vaz119 · 11/06/2020 10:07

Oh... And I'll have a proper nosy at M&s... Always forget them for sports wear

Juanmorebeer · 11/06/2020 10:10

I really rate USAPRO leggings and often on sale at sports direct

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 11/06/2020 10:14

Another vote for Under Armour - I have several pairs. No writing on the legs but they do have a logo.

ManishaK · 11/06/2020 10:37

I know a few people that have got these hareem joggers. Theyre more like yoga pants and comfier.

Might be another option?

Atalune · 11/06/2020 10:46

do not buy ASOS own brand!! I just sent back 2 pairs as they were so thin!!! Rubbish.

Tescos are good.
H and M too
KYODAN brand from tk Maxx are the best I have ever had. Thick, squat proof, high waisted and never ever fell down.
