Are there hair growth products that genuinely work?

Just that really. I was getting regular Olaplex treatments at the salon and my hair felt much healthier, obviously haven't been able to now for months with the salons being closed. I've been using the kerastase resistance extentioniste shampoo and masque for a while and it does seem to be helping with growth as my roots have come through much quicker and a couple of people have commented that my hair looks longer, but since using the shampoo my hair gets greasy much quicker and my scalp is so itchy. I was wondering if anyone has tried any other products that claim to speed up growth, and if they noticed a difference

My friend swears by Cocoa Locks, which is a hot chocolate drink packed with vitamins. I'm assuming you would get the same results from just taking a vitamin supplement though?

I have spent a fortune on hair growth supplements and miracle cures,that don't work,but if you just want growth and not regrowth from hair loss biotin is good also strengthens nails
The hair i have got grows like weeds on biotin, but patches of hair loss don't

Hairburst is good I have been taking them since jan my hair is sooo thin and if feels thicker and also have new growth from underneuth

Biotin vitamins, holland and barret. My hair was a bob and within a year it was long again!

You can get a higher strength biotin, 10000 strength from a website called troo health,only £8-99 for 120 tablets

Another vote for biotin. If you could also do with an iron boost then I recommend NutriHair which includes both. Its for hair loss but I've found it makes my hair grow much more quickly and is a lot stronger.

I am not sure about the iron,i always read increase your iron, but i have an overrload of iron and still doesn't help with regrowth,

I agree supplements and eating a healthy balanced diet is going to help better than any shampoos, lotions or creams. These shampoos just cleanse the scalp or coat the hair to make it look a bit shiney. When I say supplements I do just mean basic ones too bit expensive hair gummies or drinks. They don’t do anymore than cheaper tablets, honestly it’s just a marketing thing.

Yes agree with everyone on here..my hair grows so quickly- which is actually quite annoying as my greys come through after just two or three weeks after dying! I eat a diet packed with loads of vegetables, at least four portions of diff veg every dinner (hidden ones in sauces if its spaghetti bol etc) and fruit with breakfast, and i take b12, vitamin c and d, and apple cider vinegar. Defo think it's what you do from the inside that helps with hair growth. Kerastase is a very rich shampoo, if your scalp is itchy, make sure you are using a very small amount(10p sized piece- add water for more lather) of shampoo and very thoroughly rinsing it. You might need a bit of a more simple clarifying shampoo to give it the odd refresh every couple of weeks-something like a supermarket apple flavour or tea tree mint would work.

All these miracle shampoos and spray concentrate on Androgenic alopecia,so have something in them which destroys the DHT connected with testosterone, but my dermatologist said not to waste money on these as they don't work
Not all hair loss is caused by female pattern hair loss, so stress related,and hair loss caused by cancer usually grow back on their own eventually

Thank you everyone, really appreciate your replies. I've bought a clarifying shampoo Mojitomogul. The Kerastase does seem to be helping with growth surprisingly, it's just irritating my scalp. I read somewhere that sodium laureth sulfate can irritate the scalp and this is listed on the ingredients on the bottle of the Kerastase shampoo I've been using.

Yes if anything it could be drying out your scalp, causing the itching, I would only use the clarifying shampoo twice a month or so , and I would also think about some kind of hot oil hair treatment or mask to do occasionally, even though it gets greasy, your scalp could be dry with all the itching. Also forgot to say on my last post, I really recommend nioxin brand of shampoo/conditioner-have a google as they have 6 different types to choose from and are designed purely to help the scalp.

Yes my hair looks greasy already and I only washed it Monday, but scalp feels dry. Roots are dreadful but nothing I can do about that untill the salon opens. Thank you Mojitomogul, will have a look :)
