Moisturiser for sensitive skin

My skin reacts easily and can be super sensitive once it's triggered so I try not to change products too much. After trying many different face creams I found nivea sensitive worked for me. Its in a white pot. I'm finding it difficult to get hold of now and the one in the tube isn't the same
I don't mind paying more than nivea but can't afford £££
I can't use simple or the body shop. Both bring me out in a rash

Superdrug Vitamin E All Over Body Butter £3.99 and cruelty free. I have the driest skin!

And I use Boots own moisturiser either fragrance free or cucumber. £1.50 for 100ml. I always moisturise all over twice a day and straight after i shower.

I even find E45 too harsh for my skin.

Simple. Hydrating Light Moisturiser. Give it a go. I swear by it.

Cerave and cetaphil are amazing brands, I have sensitive skin and roseacea and they are amazing!!

Moondust001 · 06/06/2020 16:57

I adore Wildflowers, and they do a wonderful mattifying moisturiser in the range which is to die for.

danuta22 · 06/06/2020 16:58

I have very sensitive skin and use Ultrasun, factor 50, works a treat

ThousandsAreSailing · 06/06/2020 18:12

I can't use anything from simple. I don't know what sets my skin off but it's terrible
I have a small sample tube of ultrasun face 30 so I'll try it out
I'd ideally like a primer too. I've never used primer, is that instead of moisturiser, can they do the same job?
I've read about cerave. That might be worth trying

Liz Earle works for me, I can't tolerate anything from Simple but Liz Earle or Elemis are my regular ones.

ThousandsAreSailing · 06/06/2020 18:20

Simple and the body shop are both the worst for me
I have had elemis products used when I was on a spa break and they were good. I had another but I can't remember the name

I came here to say that I've recently had to do some similar research for my own allergy prone skin - I've had a terrible rash and scaly, flaky patches of late from something, I've switched to Eucerin face cream and so far so good.

But I got completely thrown by an apparently targeted ad under the thread suggesting a remedy for my "itchy smelly vagina"!

Charming, dunno why the algorithms think I need that!

A primer is for under foundation and doesn't moisturise. Moisturiser locks moisture into your skin. Is it just your face or your whole body? CeraVe is a good middle of the road brand. I use the moisturising lotion for face and body, big bottle so it's very reasonable in price. La Roche-posay toleriane might suit you, they've got a few and you might be able to get samples, and Avene have 2 different ones, one is called skin recovery cream or something and they have something similar to that. La Roche-posay and Avene are often on offer in boots and on beauty websites. Superdrug has a pure range - no superdrug in Ireland so I don't know but I often see their stuff being recommended here and in other beauty chats.

Apileofballyhoo · 06/06/2020 18:31

Just a thought, if you look at the ingredients in Nivea sensitive and in others you know disagree with your skin you might be able to figure out what ingredient causes it.

chunkyrun · 06/06/2020 18:37

I've got fickle sent I've eczema prone skin. I try and stick to perfume free products. Body shop aloe range, cereva products, work well for me. What works for one though won't always work for another. It's abit trial and error

chunkyrun · 06/06/2020 18:40

None of that made sense. Meant to say I've got fickle ezecma prone skin

LadyEloise · 06/06/2020 18:46

Child'sFarm Baby Moisturiser.

Greengrapes1357 · 06/06/2020 18:50

Aveno - reasonably priced and great on sensitive skin.

beachmist · 06/06/2020 18:56

Dream Cream from Lush

Cetraben - from GP or you can order on Amazon

beachmist · 06/06/2020 18:57

Oh and Dr Organic Manuka Honey body butter from Holland and Barrett

slipperyeel · 06/06/2020 22:46

I have rosacea and react to almost everything, even simple.
Bizarrely blue Nivea is ok despite being perfumed but the best for me is dermal cream prescribed by my GP

Minta85 · 06/06/2020 22:59

I’m getting on well with Cerave. I used to use Liz Earle but it started making my skin itchy.

Foxesandcrosses · 07/06/2020 20:34

cetaphil is amazing too!

BoudicasBoudoir · 07/06/2020 20:52

Neal’s Yard Almond Moisturiser is good.

bronzedgodesswannabe · 07/06/2020 22:21

Avene- creme peaux intolerant
It's really expensive (£16 ish) for the small tube.. but I buy the skin recovery pack which includes the cleanser and face spray for £20 so works out really good value
And oh my god! It's brilliant
I'm 29 and it's taken me my whole adult life to realise that your skin isn't meant to burn and go bright red after cleansing or using products
I'm ashamed to say it's the first time I've actually had an actual skin care regime.
My friend with eczema recommended it and I love the products so much so I'm going to save up and buy the whole range 🙈

stayathomer · 09/06/2020 14:51

By the way all the people saying about Simple being reactive, I read a blog post about Simple before saying how a group of dermatologists named it as one of the worst brands for anyone who doesn't have normal non reactive skin

Rodders92 · 09/06/2020 19:44

I find Cerave really good , have tried so many but this is very hydrating and doesn’t irritate at all
