Well, I know its not to be taken lightly but do you reckon the brands will all be producing their own and some will be more coveted than others? I have to get the tube to work every day (nurse) so i will be covered up most of my waking hours 😮. Im just looking at Baukjen they are £25 sounds like alot. I dont want to wear work ones in my daily life. If you are wearing them where did you buy them from?

I have the Baukjen ones ordered a while ago plus Lavender Hill. Boden are doing them now too. I think we will need to wear them for months and you have to wash them after each use. The places I've liked aren't making a profit ( they say).

I just posted on another thread about this but I'm buying the Uniqlo Airism ones as soon as they're available.

It's their summer fabric and it's super cool and comfortable.

Fashion wise I'm sure they'll be typically Japanese minimalistic

I can’t imagine any face mask being either stylish or beautiful. My mother in law is making mine, but if I was going to buy any it would be from a small business owner on Etsy.

I bought some for the whole family from a local business a few weeks ago in case they became mandatory. We could choose our own fabrics and they were £5 each.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 04/06/2020 22:05

Biden have started doing them now too

I've got some 3M ones from a box in my husbands workshop. They certainly aren't going to win any fashion awards but they do meet the WHO's covid-19 protection guidelines.

Miljea · 05/06/2020 00:47

I wear 'work ones' in my everyday life! Why, as a nurse, wouldn't you? You know they meet the 'standards'! I assume you're confident!

I wear my fit-tested FFP3 mask to Asda every week!

I've made some denim facemasks, lined with tight weave cotton.

GazeboParty · 05/06/2020 08:37

@craskey we ordered those and they were absolutely useless - thin flimsy foam and I can't believe they would survive a wash. Total waste of money.

Pipandmum · 05/06/2020 08:41

I don’t take public transport but got a few In case for other reasons. £1 from local corner shop (triple layered cotton). Homemade nice fabrics and all money going to charity. My family in USA have to wear them all the time out of the house and lots of pretty ones spotted there. Nightmare coordinating with outfits I imagine!

EachandEveryone · 05/06/2020 09:26

Its a shame they all seem to be handwash only.

I dont want to wear my nhs ones incase people think ive pinched them or taken them off a worker. I have got a couple of proper fitted ones so the plan is to alternate.

I think you should be entitled to use NHS ones on the tube. You are putting yourself at risk for others. If you protect yourself you are protecting your patients.

ZaraW · 05/06/2020 10:37

I bought mine from a women's collective in Kenya. I'd rather give my money to provide an income to the women who work there.

ManishaK · 05/06/2020 10:40

I love the body shop facemasks - they don't make me break out and i have super sensitive skin. The clay one works wonders!

thisenglishlife · 05/06/2020 10:55

Wrong type of face mask @ManishaK
