Messy bathroom cabinets - help!

user1482949820 · 29/05/2020 18:00

I have a large en-suite with abundant storage under the two sinks. I also have a three-door mirrored cabinet (although this is quite shallow). The latter is OK-ish but the cupboard under the sink is always a mess. I keep wash bags, hair clips, spare bottles of shampoo and conditioner, hair brushes, hair products, masks, waxing products, spare toilet rolls, some cleaning stuff, and other bits. I have tried to use jars to store things but bottles are too big to go in, same with brushes, etc. Does anyone have any genius tips to have a tidy bathroom cupboard? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Ignore the rude poster it's a valid question
Clear plastic wash bags
Curver small baskets (easy to wash)
Shelves the right height for large shampoo/hairspray.
Hair ties in a tin (or on a carabiner)

Can you sort out my medicine drawer because I can't keep on top of that!

I've bought some plastic shallow boxes from The Range. They fill the space and then I've sorted out my products into the relevant boxes.
It's called 'Wham rectangular studio storage basket. It works really well.

hellosunshine5 must be leading an infinitely more exciting life than the rest of us, so one wonders why she's here?
Anyway, I'm lurking to get tips! 😃

@morelikeaclubsandwich Love the idea of a carabiner for hair ties! Because I have lots which I loose then finds all over the house and as I don't have a single place to store them I end up putting them away in different places, which I then forget about! Thank you.

@follygirl I could even print labels for each box so I know what goes what (whenever I start a container system I end up putting stuff in the 'wrong' boxes because I'm not quite sure where to put it. And so the mess continues...)

@3catsandcounting I missed the rude comment - did I miss much? ;-)

No, you missed nothing really. It was that unoriginal I can't even remember! Something like having better things to do.
Off you pop then. Wink

Not sure why some people feel the need to waste time with snarky comments. Do they not have anything better to do? ;-)

You need shallow lidless boxes or containers for each category of things.

I put all my hair things in a square jo malone box. I use old gift set boxes for lots of little toiletry bits actually.

Could wash bags go in your suitcases to be stored. You’re likely to need both at the same time... though not any time soon!
I also keep our travel medical stuff and all our left over suntan lotion on the suitcases.
That might free up a little bit of space.
I’ve been using this time to use up endless odds and ends of beauty products, and taking great joy from the growing pile of empties - I say pile, they’re in a bag, so I can see my progress!

Our bathroom cupboards have baskets inside. A basket for shampoo and conditioner, a basket for body scrubs, a basket for body lotions, a basket for shower gels etc. It keeps everything tidy, easy to find and tidy back away and off the sides so the bathroom always looks tidy too.
