So late night I died my hair and I love the colour. I brought everything from Sally's and the same dye as my hairdresser uses but my head pitched so much I dont think I want to touch it again. Can I achieve this colour with henna. Any tips? Thank you

Hi Avocado. I hope you haven't had to redye your hair yet. I think you could achieve a similar colour by using henna and indigo, it might have a warmer cast than your current colour though. I'd suggest trying a lighter brown just to see how it comes out as indigo can easily go black! I only ever go pure henna but I've seen some other people getting nice deep browns.

Hi @smurftastic. I havent had to re-dye yet. I was thinking henna. I've only ever used lush and would have no idea where to start with normal henna but I think it would be my best bet! Thank you for the advice :)

Hi, google the long hair community. There's a whole section about using henna on there and it's a very active site. I have dyed my hair with 50% henna and 50% cassis to get a more copper colour and my hair is now really shiny and feels thicker and healthier. The main downside is that it's really messy to apply and it takes a while to prepare in advance.

As Squeaky suggested, even if you are not after growing your hair long, longhaircommunity has ALL the knowledge about henna. You have to be aware that if you use indigo you can NEVER bleach your hair again, at least until it grows out, or you're risking your hair going green. It is a decision not to be taken lightly! I also developed allergy to dark hair dyes, went back and forth pure henna / light chemical colours, until I developed an allergy to those too Angry. At least my hair is better for it. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

Yep, henna plus indigo would work, and long hair community is great. Lush does a darker henna block with the indigo mixed in - not tried that particular one as I prefer the pure red colour, but in general Lush henna is great for the condition of your hair.

I never tried Lush as it seems more of a faff to grate the block first, I think they add a lot of other (natural) ingredients to it, which makes it less long lasting. Might be a good first try as pure henna+indigo might stick to your hair forever and if you don't like it then, well, you're stuck! I do miss changing my hair colour but henna makes it like a fiery, shiny waterfall.
