@cloudspotter I had the same for years - you need a mineral/physical sunscreen rather than the chemical ones. I have a great one from Heliocare now and no more streaming eyes, but Avene also do a good one and Purito.

Yet another vote for Biore watery essence.

I keep buying Ultrasun (although the last bottle was weirdly runny) on the basis that it's the only one I know of that you apply to bare skin in the morning, then do your make-up, and you're done for the day.

With these others, are you supposed to reapply every couple of hours for it to be effective? Or are there any other 'once and you're done' sunscreens?

Biore Watery Essence is the best thing ever, and I've tried a lot. So good I got DH to bring me a load back from his trip to Japan last year.

I like Biore Watery Essence but prefer Altruist. Available on Amazon.

Frezyderm. My first attempt at Frezyderm was terrible but I think the product was faulty. I gave it a 2nd attempt and it is excellent. It’s cosmetically very elegant and lovely to use. I don’t know how they do it. I’ve also used the tinted version which I find great for ‘days off’ from makeup. It comes out quite dark but settles in very well to my skin and has decent coverage. DD is v white, pale red hair, blue eyes and it was just a tad too dark for her but really I’m being picky, it was v good.

I also like Heliocare oil free gel.
Biorè is good, but it’s my 3rd prize place.Wink
For running, I sometimes revert to LRP Shaka stuff when it’s v sunny.

Those looking for a non-stinging-eyes SPF, La Roche Posay anthelios hydrating cream has ‘anti-eye sting’ on the box and it definitely does not sting eyes.

bronzedgodesswannabe · 09/06/2020 19:31

Another vote for biore
Mind you it's the only sunscreen I've used that isn't the kids greasy factor 50 stuff
So I'm well chuffed with it
I have really sensitive skin on my face and it doesn't cause a reaction!

Geppili · 09/06/2020 20:35

Biore watery essence.

megrichardson · 09/06/2020 21:49

I use australian gold

Bellebelle · 09/06/2020 22:39

Used to use the Kiehl’s one and now use the Dr Sam Bunting one. Both are the only ones that don’t give me spots. The Sam Bunting one edged it for me as although the directions are to put on quite a lot (3 pumps) after a minute it completely sinks in, no white marks and my skin feels lovely. I also feel like it properly gives me SPF 50 cover. I don’t wear foundation but apparently it’s a great primer too.

@Etcni

La Roche Posay Anthelios XL - I have the gel one as it's anti-shine but I think they're all factor 50+. I think the range is on offer in Boots at the moment.
Hey Etcni. I have the lotion one of this, and although it states no white marks, I found it is white on me. And slightly greasy. Not too greasy but a little. Does the gel not show at white or residue after applying? Love this thread Ladies!

I'm so happy! I got the Roche Posay one, I'm so chuffed.

Firstly it is soaked up by my oily skin beautifully. When I put it on before serum/moisturizer it disappeared immediately. Even when I had serum and moisturizer on it did go in, albeit a little slower.

I put it on for a days social distancing outdoors, and not a problem. My skin has remained its usual pasty white. No burn, and my melasma has not come out more.

I've now also tracked down a moisturizer that has Factor 30 included, (L'oreal revitalift) so I can use that for everyday. (NB The revitalift is actually a bit heavy for me so not recommended for those like me with oily skin)

I'm indescribably happy. Ever since the melasma happened a few years ago I have been wearing massive wide brimmed hats on holiday in France. My head gets so horribly hot, and obviously it's no good for swimming!!

It has got a very slightly white look at first, not sure whether this would be more noticeable on darker skins, so beware. It wasn't noticeable after the first 10 minutes.
But it's worth it. I'm even reconsidering being able to holiday in France now. Last year, my eyes reacted every time.

Cloudspotter · 15/06/2020 14:27

Ps mine says "dry gel-cream" so I'm not sure whether it is the gel or the cream!
