Returning a handbag

I bought a bg from coach and took the tissue paper off from all the zip pulls. Also there was tissue wrapped around the straps of the bag holding them together. I removed it all but am now having second thoughts. Does anyone know if I can still return it? I have all other packaging including the big paper balls they stuff the bags with.

Generally, Distance Selling rules state that you can reasonably handle an item as you would be able to in a shop, before deciding whether to return. Pulling off all the paper from the zips etc. might be pushing it a bit far under 'reasonable handling' but you won't know until you ask them.

I would just send it back and see what happens . Worst case they will send it back to you and tell you it's not returnable . Make sure it's well wrapped with the bits that were on it etc and make it look nice . As long as it's in re sell able condition that I'm sure will be fine .

I have done the same before and got my refund.
So long as you've tags etc still attached you can't really get a full look at the bag without unwrapping it all.

I shop online a lot and always, always remove those bits of paper from bags, jackets, anything with a zip. Never ever had a problem with a refund.

As PP said you are allowed to reasonably handle an item to assess it is fit for purpose. Those tiny bits of paper will be easily replaced in the warehouse. Same as they will replace all the tissue wrapping with new when they send it out again. Use your common sense, a large brand like this will only be interested in reselling the item, keeping your money will not make or break them as a company. Alternatively, give them a call or email, you don't have to link your query to your order if you are really worried about comeback.
