Beauty tips with a toddler!

Hi everyone.
Just wondering what tips everyone has for putting their makeup on and taking care of their selves beauty wise with a toddler. Those of you that wear makeup daily and fake tan etc do you just let your toddler roam around you as you do it?

DH and I get up at about 7.30 and take it in turns to watch the toddler before DH starts work at 9. This gives me about 20 minutes to shower - if I was bothering with makeup I'd do it then.

Anything else like face masks, hair masks, etc I do when he is in bed!

If for example you're a single mum I would advise strapping into high chair with a snack or doing it in the same room as the cot with a portable mirror and using that as a baby jail. Grin

I love the eye mask patches, they are lovely and cool and leave you feeling refreshed while still being able to run after a little one.

When mine was a toddler I did as much as I could in the evenings (washing hair, painting nails, etc). Then in the mornings I would either leave her with DH for a bit or do it while she was strapped in the high chair having breakfast.

When she got a bit older, I found a couple of episodes of peppa pig worked well too Blush

Baby jail is a winner. I shower while my DS is in the bath.
My makeup has become very minimal. Agree with PP that it makes life easier to do beauty stuff in the evening when the monsters are in bed and cut morning stuff to the minimum.
I do appointments for waxes or nails during lunch while at work so there are things I don’t have to worry about at home at all.

If you drive to work (normally), do it in the car - after dropping off any DC obviously. The light is great, and so is the peace Grin

Use a good BB cream as it saves time! I have mastered my make up in 3.5 mins and race through it while DS(2.5) watches Hey Duggee and use a BB cream with spf as a base layer and add highlighter, concealer, eye shadow and mascara

Another distraction technique I use is to give DS his own makeup kit with a plastic handbag mirror and an old foundation brush and let him play with that while I sort my face

Some great tips here so far. Thank you!

I have a one month old and a 21 month old and I am finding it impossible to do anything for my appearance. Even showering is difficult as my older ones bedroom is next to the bathroom and the shower noise would wake her so can't even use the time when she's asleep! I have waist length thick hair and I'm almost at the point of thinking might just have to log it off once the hairdressers open as maintaining it is a nightmare! I was finding it ok doing makeup etc using similar distraction techniques as mentioned above but since number two it seems impossible!!!
