Is Olaplex worth it?

I have the longest hair I've had in years, however it's a bit "Hermione". Its not quite wavy enough to let dry naturally, it tends to randomly frizz. I've had a Brazilian blow dry before but didn't really like the super straight look, I'd prefer a more natural look, ie. Slightly wavy but not frizzy. Olaplex gets rave reviews but does it really work on frizz? My hair is undamaged (apart from dry ends) and my natural colour. Don't usually spend a much on hair products but I've saved on haircuts!
I also have to use head and shoulders regularly or my dandruff returns.
It would be great to emerge from lockdown and amaze everyone with long shiny hair!

A big yes from me, I'm dark brown and have been a bottle blonde now and again over the last twenty years. Often having to cut the dry blonde lengths off after a year or so. But I get olapex applied now when I get highlights and it is still in good condition still so I'm able to keep my lighter lengths.

Im talking about the home treatments rather than salon are they the same?

My hairdresser (award winning no less), says wash your hair, towel dry, pop on conditioner and sleep with it. Rinse in the morning. Same effect. Cost negligible.

and I mean normal conditioner...I use the Moroccan oil.

I could try that, that kind of thing (keeping hair damp etc) tends to set my itchy scalp off though.

I have thick, dry, very frizzy coloured hair. My hair was absolutely fried and then I started using Olaplex 3 overnight and Kerastase shampoo in the morning followed by Kerastase hair mask applied for 1 hour (instead of the recommended 2-5mins) under a hot towel. I also got 2 inches cut off and after a year my hair is great. But I think that Kerastase did the trick, I am not sure about Olaplex 3.
Having said that, I have thrown away all my styling products and only use Olaplex 6 and Olaplex 7 mixed together. Absolutely no frizz, hair is smooth, glossy, healthy. It just obeys me!
(I use the Kerastase rose gold shampoo and mask, Discipline).

I think there’s a huge difference between the salon treatment and #3

After the salon treatment, my hair was the best it had ever been. Thick, healthy and extremely shiny even after a fresh set of highlights on slightly damaged hair. It just felt and looked amazing.

The home #3 treatment doesn’t come close to making my hair look/feel that amazing. It does make a slight difference though. I don’t use it often because it dries out my hair (as it’s a protein based treatment). You’ll see the largest difference if your hair needs protein rather than moisture.

I had the salon treatment and the home treatment and they didn’t make any difference to my hair (bit frizzy and prone to knots)
I use a wide tooth comb when wet and a couple of drops of extraordinary oil smoothed over when is not a miracle cure but it does tame it a bit

After reading your posts again I don’t think olaplex is for you, you need a moisture treatment instead like a conditioning mask. Olaplex isn’t conditioner.

Also before anything else, your priority should be treating your itchy scalp and dandruff.

I have noticed zero difference from salon treatment- waste of money for me but everyone is different.

Thats what i wanted to know, my hair is actually in good condition as i dont colour or our use heat to often, quite shiny when straightened really, it just seems to have random kinks in it that make it naturally bushy. I suppose the right styling product is what I really need, something to comb through that would weigh it down enough without looking greasy or crunchy, I'm a pretty low maintenance person on a budget and don't like to look over "styled". Guess I'll keep waiting for a magic hair potion!
