Dermaplaning

Has anyone done at home dermaplaning? I’ve been to a salon and had it done wondering about trying it at home. Anyone recommend what the best blades are to get?

Place marking because it would be helpful if someone could link to decent blades to use

I have OP, after having done it only in salon for about a year. I was very nervous to try at home, but I got a pair of blades from Hollywood Browzer (£14.95 per pair on lookfantastic.com) and they are remarkable. It is very easy to do at home, haven’t cut myself once or even come close. The result is as good as in salon, and lasts just as well. I love dermaplaning and I doubt I will pay for the treatment ever again.

I’ve not had it done in a salon but started doing it at home a few months ago. Amazing results but can’t compare to a salon treatment.

I was quite nervous but tried on my forearm first. I bought razors from amazon and watched lots of YouTube tutorials. My skin looks amazing afterwards.

@LHReturns do you just use the blades whilst doing it asking because I’ve seen some oil that’s supposed to be for dermaplaning on Amazon.

Salon treatment was amazing. Couldnt believe how my skin felt. Due to lockdown bought the Hollywood Browser and it does a good job too. Makes a difference.

I do it myself on dry skin with a scalpel

katmunchkin · 11/05/2020 21:14

I use normal scalpels with an oily cleanser, works really well

If you have fair hairs on your face does it remove them, and if so what’s the regrowth like? I don’t want stubble!

SinkGirl · 11/05/2020 21:22

Sorry I meant, does it remove them well? Obviously it removes them, that being the point 😂

Fab will have a look for those blades then and give it a try thanks.

So far I have only done with dry blade on dry skin because I love the way the peach fuzz come up, and I can hear the scrap as it also exfoliates.

But will try the oil to compare now too!

LHReturns · 11/05/2020 21:32

SinkGirl I have only soft white peach down on my face and it has not grown back any thicker, harder or darker at all. Really Exactly the same as I started - and I have been Dermaplaning once every 5 weeks for nearly two years (first year at salon, last year at home).

CatBatCat · 11/05/2020 21:41

I've been doing it for over 5 years, the hairs have never come back darker or thicker.
