What's the best fake tan for very white legs?

I'd love to go bare legged but my skin is white as paper. Whenever I try fake tan, it is always orange and streaky. Can anyone recommend a fool proof one to build up a natural colour?
I do the usual shave, exfoliate and moisturise the night before then apply the fake tan in the morning but have never had a result I can actually go public with.

I second the St Moritz. Tried absolutely loads but this is the only one that comes out even. I've tried the new Tan Luxe body serum for the first time today on my arms and it's excellent (smells of sweets!) but haven't tried it on my legs.

The biggest difference for me was using a mitt. I use the bondi sands one. No streaks.

Skinny Tan - Wonder Serum - although it is quite dark.

St Tropez purity gel otherwise

Not a fake tan (as it only lasts until your next shower) but I swear by This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle. It not only adds a tint and sheen to the legs but also seems to tone and hydrate and smells gorgeous! It's expensive but a little goes a long way, so it lasts.

I am white as a paper too. I just get the white legs out. by the end of the summer they are usually light beige Grin

Skinny tan - the normal shade rather than the dark one if your legs are properly pale.

I'm so pale I'm practically translucent. I really like Avon Skin So Soft glow dry oil spray.
It's a gradual tan and comes out very fine and is easy to run in. Dries quickly too.
I just use it enough to take the edge off the blinding glow of my skin. 😂

My colleague would newver dream of covering up her blue/white skin! We all tease her that she is covered in Wode!

I really like the Palmers gradual tan. It's the only gradual tan I can use without it making me look a funny colour

Lancôme flash bronzer, not too dark, you see where you are putting it, buildable over a few days. I'm the palest person I know and I can use this to get a soft glow that does not look like I've used tan

I have s tube of Vita Liberata that I bought last year because everyone on MN was raving about it.
Never got round to trying it. Hmm
Might give it a go this year

@hopeishere - which mitt do you use? I've heard from several people that the trick is to use a mitt. I want to give it a go.

@vengeancer - I'd do that if it worked. The rest of me turns a lovely golden toasty colour. The legs look dipped in bleach. I just can't. They have to be fake tanned.

If a tan existed that covered up spider veins on white legs I'd be thrilled Envy

I use a bondi sands mitt. It's sort of velvet like. Total game changer.

Another vote for skinny tan! I'm so pale skinned it's the only one that looks semi natural on me. I use the tan and tone oil in light. Good luck

I'm really pale - Irish - and I use Bellamianta gradual tanner. One application is enough for me. I find most tans are too dark. I also use their mitt. It's a velvety one and makes all the difference. No streaks.

I'm deathly pale, I've used most of the tans and can safely say avoid st moritz, and gradual tanners, they just don't work well on really pale skin sadly.

I use vita liberata, and it's so natural, no orange tones at all

I love both Vita Liberata and St Moritz

Fake tan always looks orange on me. So if I want to look less glo white I use the Sally Hansen and apply with a mitt. It also blurs out bruises/ spider veins etc

@IWouldLikeToKnow - I'm not Irish but I know the Irish whiteness you mean and that's exactly my skin tone, so I might start with your suggestions.

@ellanwood try LISA25 or LISA15 for a discount. That's obviously on their own website. An Irish blogger Lisa's Lust List, is a brand ambassador. Worth a follow on insta if you decide you like it for regular discount codes. Just had a look at her site and the LISA25 seems to be the most recent for a 25% discount. If not try the other for a 15% one. Might work if you are going to purchase.

Sorry, owner of very pale legs here too, so can I please ask some very basic questions as I’ve always thought about fake tan, but have always been too scared...
So I need to moisturise my legs in the morning, especially the knees and heels. Then have a shower - use a mitt (where do I get one of them please?) to rub over my legs and scrub away. Do I need anything apart from a mitt and water? Then put the fake tan on. Then go to bed. Won’t it stain my bed sheets? Does it smell? And then shower it off in the morning.
Is that all correct? Apologies I (clearly) don’t have a clue!!

Me again..... so I’ve just looked up the bondi sands mitt but that says you use that to apply the tan. So do I need a different mitt to scrub my legs first with...??? (You can tell I don’t have a clue..) Confused

The mitt you use for the tan is velvet one @Justfivemoreminutesplease - lots of tan brands also sell exfoliating mitts, which are different. Some of them call these ones tan remover mitts. You can scrub with these in the shower to exfoliate. Pretty sure Bondi Sands make both types, they're about £6 each on Amazon.
I use Korean Italy towels to exfoliate- can get a big pack for about a tenner on Amazon. I use a glove style mitt to apply the tan - with a thick elastic bit round the wrist to stop it coming off as you rub the tan in. I've got this one which is great: www.amazon.co.uk/HelaJoy-Self-Tanning-Mitt-Applicator/dp/B07MNC4PQR/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=tanning%20mitt&sprefix=tanni&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTU1JV1IxVVpWRlhVJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjkxODUyMk1JVUI4Vkg1VUhaTyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjA0NjYzMVhRS1oyTTFOUUowVCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&qid=1589209123&sr=8-2-spons&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
