A confession first - I'm not too keen on the current fashion of very emphasised brows. Not a criticism of anyone, just a personal preference.

I'm quite skilled with eyebrow pencil and that's how I've managed my rather sparse, fair brows for years. Just enough to give some shape and definition; the basic shape is good. However, as I've got older they are getting sparser and sparser and have started growing in all different directions. So I've decided I want some sort of salon treatment after lockdown.

What should I be looking at? I suppose microblading would be the obvious solution, but I'm worried I'm stuck with it for ages if I don't like it. That they'll do them too dark or too thick or too extended. I haven't got the money to have more temporary solutions again and again.

Hay-alp!

The maybelline brow tattoo might be good for you? You apply like a brow gel then peel off after a few mins and it stains your brows for a couple of days at a time

Thanks elscar - I'll have a look. But ultimately I'm looking for a more long-lasting salon treatment.

I have very shit sparse eyebrows - throwback from the 80s/90s when brow fashion was like a tadpole shape then an arch and a thin tail ( but I bloody rocked them brows Grin )

Roll on middle aged my brows are having None Of It .

I use the Revolution 3 Day Dye - it dyes the hair and skin lasts maybe 3-4 days . The Taupe is best for my brows . I leave it 2 hours then peel off .

Longer term, I;m considering microblading -looked up some London cinics , prices around £350-£400 which is a lot .

In the meantime I got some Revitabrow -I've used it before and it does work but needs to be continued though with less frequency . I'm on Day 3 now so a long way to go .

Castor oil is supposed to be good .

I'm using an ELF Brow pencil at the moment , lasts pretty well .

Salon wise there is microblading, hd brows ("tinting+) , or tinting and shaping. If money is an issue, I would go once to a salon get them shaped tinted see how you feel, if you like the effect you can tint and maintain at home. HD brows is a brand and is costly, microblading is great some wonderful results, but its a large one off outlay. So i would always go for an eyebrow tint at a nice salon. There is also the option of colleges very cheap and the students are supervised closely so perfectly safe.

Thanks! Microblading around £250 where I live which I think is still a lot but hey ho.

With the Maybelline and with the Revolution, what would I do with the unruly hairs which are growing the wrong way? I'm reluctant to pluck them - they're part of the main brow line and I'd be even sparser without them. But I'd imagine if I go for microblading they'd need to pluck them anyway.

How long does a shape and tint last? And how difficult is it to do at home when it wears off? Thanks Ffss.

@TellingBone its really easy to maintain once the therapist has reshaped ypu wpuld just need to pluck stray hairs, and the tint ask the therapist what colours she is using. If at some point you do decide to tint at home if you posted pics of just your brows people wpuld happily advise on colours to use. Its is very easy to do at home.
