Anyone want to share a pic of their nail varnish?

I’m about to buy some new nail varnishes but am undecided on what colours/makes you go for.

Leighton Denny are still going. I have Not Tonight, I Love Juicy and Crushed Grape LD polishes.

My favourite spring/summer colours are I Love Juicy (coral), Essie's Cute as a Button and a No 7 light coral colour.

I 😍 nail polish!

So I’ve spent hours looking through OPI and Essie nail varnishes and whilst I was originally set on OPI I do generally prefer the colours of Essie so have gone with a couple from there. I have really pale skin and was worried the OPI colours would be too bold for me.

Orange pop by H&M. I did not bother with base coat or top coat so it is not really lasting that well!!!

Honeybee85 · 09/05/2020 17:05

Essie Angora Cardi on my toenails, as per usual. Love, love this colour!

These were mine at the beginning of March on my wedding day, OPI Passion, one of my favourites

@Dingdongthewitchisbread If it helps I'm natrally really pale and find deep colours like black, dark reds etc work really well, as well as really light colours. I do often wear a bold red if I'm wearing red accessories. I think you just have to have qa pay around and see what you like. They often have Nails Inc nail polishes free with magazines which is nice way to try new colours.

Essie Exotic Liras which I call my watermelon colour.

Usually I would get a gel manicure every 3 weeks. In lockdown I've just been refreshing some clear polish every week and keeping them shaped. Normal nail polish chips too easily to bother with and chipped nail polish looks scruffy.

Changed mine the other day. This is an Essie - Cute as a Button. I love corals in summertime. This one lasts really well but does need three coats.

@TerrorWig that's my favourite summer polish too. I'm painting my nails that colour this evening. I normally get away with two coats plus base and top coat though.

Picassosdove · 13/05/2020 11:11

Nailberry Serendipity. Great brush. Only one coat of colour needed, with base coat and top coat.

I don't wear nail polish but I do wear it on toenails in the summer. I recently bought OPI Cajun Shrimp, nice for summer I hope. And I have Essie Watermelon which is a cooler dark pink.

TerrorWig · 16/05/2020 18:26

Changed mine again! I really like doing my nails, oiling and pushing the cuticles, applying polish regularly. It's therapeutic. I HATE other people doing my nails!

I've actually just taken this one off, but it is a surprise new love. Nails Inc. Birds before Bros which comes in a duo with Anything Flamingoes which is a neon pink. Not normally a fan of pearly shimmers but this one is fab. This isn't my image as I made a gif which MN doesn't like :(

My essie nail varnishes came, I spent ages painting my nails using a bottom coat, three coats of colour and then a top coat and they chipped and all peeled off within two days.

What could I be doing wrong?

Whenever I make a super effort and put on too many layers everything goes horribly wrong...

I really rate essence from Wilko, I have been wearing gold on my toes for the past 2 summers and still love it. One or 2 coats is plenty, totally faff free. I usually don’t wear anything on my finger nails cause I don’t like the smell and feeling and just buff them.

TerrorWig · 17/05/2020 14:22

Make sure your nails are dehydrated with plenty of nail polish removed before you apply.

If you're apply five coats, make sure they're all thin. Some top coats (the very thick, glossy ones) will peel sometimes.

NotaFreeloader · 17/05/2020 18:47

I quite like maybelline colour show or rimmel as they are cheap so can get different colours. I use a gel top coat and they last well
