Desperately seeking Elasto-Curl

Help! I've been using Elasto-Curl by Kerastase, the only thing that keeps my hair under any kind of control. Recently called in to hairdresser & they said oh that's changed now it's Oleo Curl (same packaging new name). So I bought it (expensive! but Elasto-Curl always worth it) and when got it home it was a dreadful oily shampoo and sort of gelly substance for the conditioner. The leave in cream is different too, sort of like dribbly baby poo where previously was heavenly scented thick cream. Oh dear - I'm boring myself at this stage. Went to get hair cut weeks later & hairdresser said oh no Elasto-Curl still exists that Oleo thing is a different thing altogether. Now I can't find Elasto-Curl & it's not on Kerastase website.

Does anyone know what has happened to Elasto-Curl?

Is this it?

JackieNo · 17/09/2007 21:53

More here. Try googling - various places seem to sell bits.

hmmm, this is what look fantastic says.

I'm an elasto-curl girl, the oleo stuff is to relax your hair.(I think) I can still buy elasto-curl at my hairdressers

I had also ordered Elasto Curl online & when it came it was Oleo Curl. I might ring the suppliers you suggest JackieO & confirm with them it's the right stuff. If it is I'll just quickly order about forty tubes of the stuff. The look fantastic link seems to confirm worst fears though. Aaargh!

have you got thick hair then vg? i was alll set to buy some kerastase stuff but was put off because i have fine hair. is this the stuff? tell me more.

the best range i have ever found is ouidad but only in america and the shipping costs are horrific.

VintageGardenia · 18/09/2007 18:16

Fishie no I have fine hair, medium-sized curls tending to ringlets when tamed, frizz when untamed. I've tried that NutriSculpt but found it weighed my hair down (I liked the shampoo of it though). Elasto Curl sort of defines the curls without making each individual one sticky or heavy - hard to describe but an absolute wonder product. I've tried Frizz Ease, Aussie Miracle, all the things which are supposed to be good for curly hair and EC was the best I ever found.

i like this. serum first, then gel, then creme....

Mmm the Bumble & Bumble stuff looks good. I got my hair cut today & asked hairdresser what story was. She said no more EC and no Bumble & Bumble in Ireland but she used something on me called Supersculpt Styling Glaze by Paul Mitchell. Have to say it left me feeling as if I had got trapped in the mid-eighties and had had my hair scrunch dried with mousse. God be with the days...

So meantime I've ordered some EC on the web, having checked in advance it's the pure stuff, might try some B&B off the web too.

If anyone else has curly hair recommendations I'd love to hear them.

I have got mental, really thick long curly hair. I really like elasto-curl but have to mix it with something stronger - Indola Creative Lotion, which I get on-line. I also like Aveda Be Curly but again have to mix it. I'm always aiming for defined curls that aren't frizzy or big or brittle! I didn't like frizz-ease atall.
