I want to treat myself to a lightweight dressing gown. Does anyone have one of these? Which one? Are they worth the money?

If you like a kimono/gown that you can throw in the washing machine then this wouldn’t be for you-it’s is definitely a hand wash one.

I want luxury, not sensible Grin

I am wearing a 100 Stars apron right now. Love it. It was my lockdown treat to myself - we are doing a lot of baking and now I can feel glam while I’m doing it!

I also bought the lounge pants for a gift for a friend, and she was thrilled.

heartsetonthisone · 06/05/2020 18:05

you are all such a bad influence Wink - I was deliberating over one a few weeks ago and then I just read this, and I've bought it!

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 18:12

I think I’m going to opt for Venice

I was deliberating the burgundy moorish one a few weeks ago and it's now sold out. So I've gone for Venice too.

turquoiseplates · 06/05/2020 18:50

I have 2 short kimonos and a knee length one I use as a dressing gown.
Absolutely love them. Contemplating getting a willow pattern one at the moment.

Housewife2010 · 06/05/2020 21:11

I have this one www.bijouled.co.uk/clothing-c6/one-hundred-stars-parrot-dressing-gown-p10432

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/05/2020 22:57

Anyone know how long the evening coat is? I'm a short arse.

GreyHare · 06/05/2020 23:14

@MotherForkinSirtBalls I'm 5ft almost 2 and the evening coat is a few inches above my ankle.

cheesycrisps · 07/05/2020 16:05

Is there something to these that can be chucked in the washing machine?

peachypetite · 07/05/2020 16:16

No they aren’t for the machine @cheesycrisps

OP posts:
Ohffs66 · 07/05/2020 16:22

I put mine in the machine tbh but it's looking pretty tatty as a result!

cheesycrisps · 07/05/2020 17:56

Meant to say something similar to these, sorry. Another brand that can be washed. I love the prints but the hand washing isn't practical hence the washing machine question.

GreyHare · 07/05/2020 18:31

I wash mine in the machine on a 30 then give them an iron and they come up like new.

Thinkle · 07/05/2020 18:51

I’ve just ordered two things off then back of this thread! Does anyone use the hand wash cycle on the mashing?

peachypetite · 07/05/2020 18:54

@thinkle what did you buy?

OP posts:
MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/05/2020 19:04

GreyHare Well that's some dangerous knowledge Blush

321Backintheroom · 07/05/2020 19:09

I too throw mine in the washing machine ... I have the Venice one

Thinkle · 07/05/2020 19:58

@peachypetite I got the trousers in one of the Kew patterns coral background (thinking gold sandals) and a short kimono same pattern but grey. Not to be worn together... probably...

turquoiseplates · 08/05/2020 08:06

Delicate wash in the machine

saveyourkissesforme · 08/05/2020 08:21

I have a long dressing gown that I bought in the sale about six months ago. Really like it. It seems pretty practical to me. I've also got their pyjamas.

LilyRose88 · 15/05/2020 12:23

I have just received my Paris map 100 Stars kimono and I must confess I am really disappointed with it. It is very thin material - like a really old silk scarf that is nearing the end of its life - and the print is okay but not as nice as I was expecting. It is so thin that I can't really see myself ever wearing it. I tried it on over a fitted black top and jeans, and it looked okay I guess, but nothing special. Certainly not worth £39.99.

StarJumpAlertTakeCover · 16/05/2020 00:35

I agree. Disappointing. Going back.

Picassosdove · 16/05/2020 06:50

I think they are great as long as you are expecting something very diaphanous. I bought a pale geeen and pink cherry blossom dressing gown a few years ago. It only gets worn in Summer with a pale green satin slip from. M and S underneath. It's pretty but very insubstantial. My verykerry cotton kimono is equally beautiful but much more robust in cotton and gets wear all year round except in the depths of Winter.
