ok, I have new trousers, fit perfectly except waaay too long. Took them to dry cleaners for alteration - only it would cost me £16 !! took them to sexcond cleaners and left them there - they charge £10 ... however, thought to myself,I reckon I can take them up - so collected them and now I'm thinking, no,actually I'm rubbish at sewing. So, should I make an attempt to sew them, or give in and return them to the second cleaners... ?

yes, but she always seems to be in a bit of a flap and I don't want to impose - if I did, should I offer payment ? or a bottle of wine ?

I'm being a bit pathetic...wish I could do these things myself

I would pay the money and get them done properly. You don't want it to look amateurish!

£10 is actually very reasonable ime

contentiouscat · 17/09/2007 19:08

Whether I would bother would depend upon how much I paid for them and what material they are as some fray more than others, some will be harder to take up without it showing.

I can sew but tbh as long as you are not really short of cash its probably worth £10 to get it done properly.

I think you're right -they are very nice fabric and I'd hate to ruin them..just feel a bit sheepish going back and admitting that I can't do them myself !!
