Does anyone use John Frieda precision foam colour?

Is it easy to use and would you recommend?

What colour do you use? My hair has a lot of grey now but my pre-grey natural colour was medium brown with some chestnut/red in it.

Any recommendations please?

I've only used it twice, the last two times I've coloured my hair. I found it very simple to use and it gave brilliant grey coverage, much better than Olia, Clairol etc. I did find the colour a little bit flat compared to nice and easy but the grey coverage was much better. It also didn't fade as much as other products I've used. My colour is deep cherry brown.

I've used it once and honestly for the money it was crap. I use colour expert which covers the grey beautifully and doesn't fade.

I've been using it for years and like it a lot. It's really easy to use and keeps its colour well.

Girlintheframe · 07/05/2020 21:04

I used it about a week ago and hated it. I was trying to cover greys..it didn't. The foam makes it very hard to apply with any precision. It was on special in Boots so thought I would try it, wouldn't buy it again.

Doyoumind · 07/05/2020 21:07

I've bought it in the past on special offer and thought it was easy to use with good colour and grey coverage.

Yes and I love it, best hair colour I've ever used. easy to use and makes my hair really shiny. I use a light brown - it covers my greys although does need doing every 8 weeks or so (can't be bothered doing it in lockdown)

Chokablok · 08/05/2020 07:30

I use it and wouldn't go back to regular hair dye now.

I agree it's maybe not as great a colour but for the coverage and ease of application it's so worth it for me.

Thank you, I've ordered one online to try. I got 5N natural medium brown, anyone used that shade?

How long do you leave it on for?

Hi, can I use this on my bleach blonde highlights which I am growing out, I am going back to my natural hair colour light brown, so was thinking of put a box dye on which I have never used before, any advice would be great.

bendmeoverbackwards · 31/05/2020 13:04

I tried it, coverage was rubbish!

Now ordered Garner Olio to try, it's supposed to be very good.

tappitytaptap · 31/05/2020 15:47

I used to use a while ago and really liked it but probably been about 3.5 years since I used it. May consider again though as not keen on paying full prices to the hairdresser when they open for what sounds like a totally unrelaxing experience, masks, no magazines or coffee.... does anyone else have good box dye recommendations to dye over my grown out highlights (dark hair?). Sorry for hijacking OP! Grin

bendmeoverbackwards · 31/05/2020 16:15

No worries @tappity

To be honest I don’t find the salon experience that relaxing anyway (introvert!) but I like the end result! They do it much better than I’m able to.

Mimosa1 · 31/05/2020 16:38

Op, I really like it BUT you have to leave it on for quite a long time if you have "stubborn" greys. I left it on for 40mn and found coverage very good.

Tara336 · 31/05/2020 16:58

I used it as was only stuff I could get during lockdown as seems more expensive then other brands. It’s easy to use, colour is quite nice (chocolate brown) but coverage on greys is poor tbh. It doesn’t really do the job I bought it for so wouldn’t buy it again as to me it’s been expensive crap
