Hooded coat for buggy pushing in the rain?

I keep doing variations on this thread, still haven't found anything nice ...

Nothing remotely parka-related please, something pretty

(I have an old black Next duffle coat but am utterly depressed by it)

wanted to get a light weight jacket last week today thinking about breaking out the super thick winter coat - have you looked on topshop website they have some lovely coats

i like the laura ashley one - smoggie can you go an stand under a hosepipe and test it for us please!!

I have that Millet's one too - it's not very warm though, you need a fleece underneath and then you look like Michelin Mum.

sugarmatches- I am not complaining,just a comment that we still ahven't solved this dilemna!

yajorome- I really like the orange one,colour wouldn't suit me but if it did I would love it.Bright is good.Wish bravissimo one was green.Will let you know what it's like,but I think you should keep the priciples one,tis lovely.

I just got this one - dh calls it 'death by colour', but I like it, and it's long enough to keep the top of my legs dry here

I think I'm sending mine back - had a friend look at it today and it just wasn't right.

Think the Millets one I have is nicer than the Boden ones (INHO of course!) in part because it doesnt scream BOden at you with all those odd coloured spots/dots.

Roskva - how far down your legs does the Boden one come? Is it anywhere near kneelength?

I am a shortie so, in my defence, those coats from Debenhams would at least reach my knees, Cod.

I really like that (top right) tweed number from H&M. Long, pretty stylish - from what I can see of the photo - and hooded!

Uniqlo have showerproof trenches and parkas in at the moment - the trenches are double breasted (no good for me as I'm too short) and have removable lining. The parka has a hood with fur lining and is nylon. Hennes have Boden-like coats (coated cotton) with blue and white patterns. And I saw a pic of a Mango patent leather coat the other day (but only available on the website in "curry").

Me personally I alternate between black North face parka (when it's really wet), black Lands end squall parka (if I ever get round to re-proofing it) and Gap puffa coat.

RosaLuxembourg - it comes to about 3 inches above my knees, and I'm about 5'4". It passed the light rain test with flying colours, and as heavy rain is forecast over the next couple of days, I'll let you know how it fares, as I'm on sole dog walking duty.

I like smoggies coat but its still pricey at £75.

I have one from H&M. Its navy with white brollys all over it. Got it last year though. I love the Boden one but its too expensive.

quick update - though unhooded land's end mac did well in light rain this morning. kept me remarkably warm too (though may have been due to pushing laden pram)

Oh yawn, baby-pasta comments here there and everywhere - far more boring than duplicate threads Just started this anew in case there were any exciting new inventions out there
