Dermaplaning

Has anyone tried dermaplaning? I've seen a few YouTube videos and it intrigues me. I don't know whether to try it. I have fairly dry skin with a few rough patches. If I wear foundation it doesn't really sit properly on my skin. I wonder if it will help.

Does anyone have any tips?

I’ve been doing it at home for about a year. I use a new blade each time and have a clean face. I absolutely love the way it makes my skin look and people have commented on it too. The next day I feel very very slightly stubbly and then it’s gone. Make up sits so much better after doing it. I do it about every three weeks and have noticed no difference in the the ‘witch hairs’ that live on my chin - they are neither better or worse since starting

I just did it!
My face looked very dry after. I think maybe that was all the dead skin I disturbed. It feels a bit itchy now too. But I splashed my face with water and put some moisturiser on. Will see how it is later

My kit arrived today, still too frightened to use it!

My dermatologist advised me not to try this as it can lead to ingrown hairs and folliculitis. She said since the trend started she has seen a dramatic influx of clients seeking treatment after this procedure. I've got a beautician friend who regularly carries out this procedure on herself and customers and she said she's had no complaints ( and her skin looks amazing). I'm too scared to try incase I'm one of the unlucky ones!

I'm starting to get a light tache on the upper corners of my mouth, would dermaplaning be suitable to remove these?
