The are raw and painful, what cream do you recommend?

Flexitol - or anything else with a load of urea in.

PickAChew · 27/04/2020 16:17

This is the one I use - non greasy and non sticky. I blather it on DS2's eczema, too.

If my hands have been really abused, I put the really thick heel balm on my knuckles, when I go to bed.

O'Keefe's working hands (bright green tube) is brilliant for sore hands. Highly recommend it.

TrickOrRuddyTreat · 27/04/2020 16:38

Aveeno, the green one

Second o'Keefes. I've had sore dry hands for a few years and this is the best out there. I just rub over back of hands and up to knuckles before bed and maybe once a day.

If it's possible for you to use bar soap rather than liquid soap I would definitely recommend switching. It made all the difference to my dry sore cracking hands I wash them frequently but never need lotion now.

Thank you so much everyone, I'll try your suggestions and switch to bar soap

Vaseline also helpful. I rub it in at the beginning of a TV programme and it has mostly sunk in by the end. Overnight under cotton gloves also good.

Bar soap and putting cream on after every wash have cured mine and the children's sore hands.

Switch to bar soap and rinse your hands thoroughly, then pat them dry on a soft towel.
I haven't tried the handcreams mentioned but I'd be wary of using a cream containing Urea for long.
