Where has Blistex Intensive Moisturiser gone?!

Hi,
I've used Blistex Intensive Moisturiser for donkey's years, but can't seem find any either in shops of online?
Anyone know where is good to try - it's the intensive one, not the relief cream...
Any help appreciated!

It looks as though it has been discontinued :(
Having looked through the ingredients of the Blistex intensive moisturiser, I have found a dupe with all of the same ingredients. AMELIORATE Intensive Lip Treatment.. a bit pricey however!
Hope this helps!

nagaf · 19/05/2020 16:22

absolutely gutted that this isn't available. I contacted Blistex a while back to query when it may be available again, they said it was because they were struggling to get the raw ingredients but @Keknight91 message sounds more final. Like everyone else I really would like a good alternative but struggling to find one (that doesn't cost the earth)

I ordered this stuff from Amazon to try. It's not the same in that it doesn't sink in like Blistex does. It's a bit like the texture of Carmex but without the taste or zing... it does seem to last really well and doesn't need to be reapplied all the time.

I found it! It is the Blistex Relief Cream tube. It’s exactly the same stuff. I ordered one to test it and I’ve been using the Intensive Moisturiser for years like you and this is the same product 👍🏻

nagaf · 28/05/2020 08:41

@Cazbarstar that's great. Have you found a good source without really high shipping costs?

Cazbarstar · 28/05/2020 22:23

I bought them from Notino - 2 packets and delivery was £10

AmandaWright · 08/06/2020 11:33

Hi there, this has been driving me crackers too, so I emailed them and here's what they said:

"Thank you for your enquiry concerning Blistex Intensive Moisturiser. We are sorry that currently we have an out of stock situation with the Blistex products. Please be assured the product has not been discontinued, the current out of stock situation is due to supply issues.

Unfortunately, we do not have a definite time-line when the products will be available again. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,
Customer Help Desk"

...So it will be back (phew!) just not quite yet Smile

I stumbled across this thread when I did a Google search looking for Blistex as this is the only lip balm that I rate too (not greasy etc etc). I've found a supplier BUT it is based in the US. I've done a bulk order as I swear by it and I'm eeking out the last bits that I have! The only other one that has vaguely come close is Vanilla Carmex and that's freely available in Boots.

Bluesheep8 · 18/06/2020 13:43

There's one by O'keefe's n an oval orange tube. The matte one. That's brill

oohnicevase · 18/06/2020 14:02

I bought one from eBay for £10.. worth it for me as I've used it daily for 25 years or so !

justaperson · 18/06/2020 16:54

I'm still looking for a decent replacement - the O'Keefe's tube looks promising...

@GillyW2020 if you don't mind me asking where did you order from? I'm tempted to order some unless I have to order 100 or something!!

Sure, happy to. It's a website called www.iherb.com which is based in the US, so you'll be liable for duties/tax. I did a bulk order which will hopefully last me a while. I obviously can't vouch for them (I only made the order yesterday) but here's hoping...!
Beth45red · 19/06/2020 06:11

I've just ordered 6 tubes from America. Iherb.com looks like the new packaging on the blistex website

oohnicevase · 19/06/2020 07:35

Is this it ?

Where has Blistex Intensive Moisturiser gone?!
Beth45red · 19/06/2020 09:09

Yes and is pretty much same price as I would normally pay in Boots. Postage is about £6 so I ordered 6 tubes. Delivery is 2-3 weeks. I've probably only got a day or so left of my late tube. Used to have about 3 or 4 tubes on the go at any time.

I tried the No7 lip cream last week in desperation and hated it.

oohnicevase · 19/06/2020 10:37

I'm not convinced that's the same one , I think it's the other one they sell that is similar .. would you let us know please when it comes? Thanks

justaperson · 20/06/2020 08:18

Thanks @GillyW2020 I'll take a look - let us know how you get in, if it's the right stuff I might order some too!

Ticklemeelmo · 21/06/2020 22:44

following as I'm desperate to get hold of more, it's the only stuff that sorts my lips out when they're sore.

GillyW2020 · 22/06/2020 20:51

So my parcel arrived today. I would say that the Blistex in the blue pot is pretty much the same as what was sold in the UK. The Blistex in the tube I would say is a little different, possibly a bit more "medicated" so maybe the formula is slightly different. However, overall I'm happy as I now have enough to see me through for a while. Hope that's helpful. I can take pictures of the packaging if that would be of use, or ask away!

actiongirl1978 · 22/06/2020 20:56

Hi I was in a desperate state at the start of lockdown the skin around my mouth gets very cracked and tight and blistex is the only thing that helps (I have super sensitive skin and excema and I think angular cellitis - even putting aveno on there makes it itch and crack).

After a search on here I found balmonds skin saviour and it is AMAZING.

I put it on at night and I have no more cracks or splits. Also no more itching around my mouth.

Ticklemeelmo · 22/06/2020 21:26

@GillyW2020

Hi do you mean that the Blistex in the blue pot is the closest match to the relief cream that was sold here in the white metal tube?

Beth45red · 27/06/2020 13:55

Arrived today which is pretty quick, wasnt expecting it for at least another week maybe more. Pretty good match in texture to original tube. Maybe tastes a bit more toothpasty and the tubes are massive so my order of 6 will last ages

mogloveseggs · 27/06/2020 13:58

I got one from our local independent chemist if you have one nearby?

SamG2018 · 29/06/2020 18:30

The company which distributes blistex in the UK has ceased trading. They have been taken over by a company called Ceuta health care which have had delays in manufacturing. They said we will see it back in the shops in about 3 weeks 👍

SamG2018 · 29/06/2020 18:34

Also the German version of blistex intensive moisturiser is call blistex lippenbalsam it's exactly the same ingredients if you can't wait 3 weeks. You can get it on eBay
