Pigmentation area on face

I have a fairly large pigmentation area on one cheek- I have an olive complexion which I think makes this more common. I’ve tried the Eucerin dark spot corrector, which was quite pricey and made no difference. Can anyone suggest a product that works on these areas? I have read that retinol or vitamin C helps, but there are so many brands available, it’s hard to know which to try. Thanks

Try The Ordinary. It’s cheap, so worth a shot without feeling guilty if it doesn’t work.

I have the same problem and have given up trying to get rid. Sali Hughes has spent a lot of time trying various products - one seems to work, but is very expensive! Best cheap option is to use a really high spf on your face and wear hats - prevent it getting worse rather than getting rid. Then a decent concealer to cover.

My phone is being unhelpful and won’t let me paste the link in! If you google ‘Sali Hughes melasma’ it brings up a guardian column from 2017

Tretinoin and hydroquinone and high spf every day. Only thing that works. Don't waste money on other products claiming to help, waste of money.

Silver1977, which products available contains the first two chimicals you mentioned?

Thanks for suggestions. I think I have hyperpigmentation rather than melasma as it’s only on one side. I have ordered a couple of Ordinary products- they’re cheap so worth a try. The reviews are mixed- some claim they did lighten patches, but didn’t work on others.

Have it lasered off? That's what I'm thinking of doing.
