Have you found a product that's changed your skin completely? Make up that is just amazing? A technique that changed everything? A product that's time saving and multitasking? Please share with me!

I feel the need for a complete style overhaul but don't know where to start. Had a baby in December and just feel bleh

I have a generous budget due to a tax rebate, even though I'm saving a chunk of it. Whether or not it should how I look and perceive myself really affects my mental health and as I'm not getting a chance to exercise much I'm looking for tips and advice!

Thank you!

Getting HD brows really helped me,it took about a year,going every 2 months but now I have perfectly groomed,thick eyebrows that really frame my eyes.

Lollypop701 · 23/04/2020 17:27

Retinol, vitamin c and sunscreen. I like Estée Lauder but the ordinary gets good reviews The brows are also a good idea, although I don’t do hd as my brows are full, so get them threaded.

OhioOhioOhio · 23/04/2020 17:28

What's HD brows?

TheVanguardSix · 23/04/2020 17:30

Elemis papaya enzyme masque is amazing. It never disappoints.

GallusAlice79 · 23/04/2020 17:34

Nivea in-shower moisturiser. Keeps skin soft without any faff.

Face moisturiser with tan built in. Gives a glow that is hard to match with make-up.

Aldi own brand make up (fake Benefit, Urban Decay etc). Some things are better than others, but generally very good alternatives if you can't afford a full set of the real thing.

Aberforthsgoat · 23/04/2020 17:43

Do you recommend any facial fan moisturisers @gallusalice79

Great tips thanks!

Yes, the Olay one is fantastic but if you accidentally get it in your eyes it stings! But it gives such a natural glow. People always comment on my skin and it's all down to that.

The No.7 is doesn't work that I noticed.

GallusAlice79 · 23/04/2020 17:53

Another thing I'm personally not the best at is accessorising. My friend is a master of it, and she always looks amazing. She always has jewellery, scarves, headbands etc. on and it makes an otherwise bland outfit totally rock Grin

Lolalovesroses · 23/04/2020 20:11

@OhioOhioOhio HD brows are tailored to your specific face shape and eye shape.They thread your brow,colour it and then advise you on how to fill in the brow ( with makeup) whilst you are waiting for the shape to form. Originally I had very thick dark brows,but over plucked them in the 90s. They were very thin,and straight. They were completely wrong for my square face shape.Now they are really flattering.

XingMing · 23/04/2020 21:22

If you wear glasses to correct your vision, spend the money there. Good specs make life better and can transform your face. Brows also define your features. And mascara.

Dinnertime22 · 24/04/2020 07:18

I find face masks and exfoliating really help. I like Origins and Ren.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2020 07:54

I don’t think you need to spend loads, the things that actually work like vitamin c, glycolic acid toners, retinol and sunblock are dirt cheap.

It’s the repetition of an effective routine that long term stops you aging badly & eating healthily, not drinking & not smoking.

workshy44 · 24/04/2020 14:55

If you have money then nothing will beat Biologique Recherche
It has transformed my skin and I look younger now that I did 7 years ago. I also smoke, drink wine and eat bad food but even my SIL who is a consultant dermatologist switched to this brand when she saw the affect on my skin.
It is mega expensive though so probably would only bother if you were late 30's and the youngest

MrsTumbletap · 24/04/2020 19:23

@GallusAlice79 is it this one?

GallusAlice79 · 24/04/2020 21:04

@MrsTumbletap Yes Grin

Confused866 · 24/04/2020 21:19

Nip+fab glycolic acid pads and face scrub. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect moisturiser and facial spf product...
If you’ve got wrinkles that are really bothering you then a bit of Botox can make a big difference, it doesn’t have to be extreme. Also agree on using a facial tanner, I’m still looking for one that agrees with my skin but heard good things about Tan Luxe drops

ChequerBoard · 24/04/2020 21:26

Expensive cosmeceutical products recommended by a therapist from a skin spa. Skinceuticals phyto-correct serum and redness neutraliser and Albiva advanced repair lift and firm moisturiser and eye cream.

MissOrganisedMe · 24/04/2020 21:30

@GallusAlice79 thanks for the recommendation. Is this one just as good as the other? Don't think this has SPF perhaps....

GallusAlice79 · 24/04/2020 22:05

@MissOrganisedMe

I have never tried that one

Lndnmummy · 24/04/2020 23:00

Bare minerals complexion rescue, SNS nails and tight lining

Aberforthsgoat · 24/04/2020 23:12

@workshy44 where do you buy the range from? Do you need a consultation face to face initially?
