Anybody out there with petite feet?

I've got small size 2 feet and have a nightmare finding shoes to fit, especially summery ones where I can't wear 3 pairs of socks. If any of you are in the same boat, let's exchange tips and finds please. I don't know about you but I'm sick of specialist online retailers charging 3x the price for really quite unfashionable shoes and I'm also sick of little kids' shoes. Being of a somewhat diminutive stature I do like to add a bit of height via a shoe - but I also need to walk and prefer flat/ish platforms or shallow wedges (not bloody 12cm high ankle-breakers or 80's style stilettoes like is all on offer in some of the "specialist" retailers). I'm hoping you may have come across shoes that run small in the "normal" shops. Obviously can only do online atm xx

I am size 3 and it can be a pain. My trainers are from the girls secion so have nice blingy bit on them.

charleypops · 23/04/2020 19:28

I don't have too much of a problem with trainers tbh, a few junior lines are pretty much aligned to the grown up ones. It's nice shoes with a bit of height that are impossible to find, especially in summer when boots or very enclosed shoes are not appropriate

I am currenly looking for a nice dressy shoe, not much luck.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 23/04/2020 21:13

I'm a narrow-footed 3 with a big bunion on one foot and it's nigh near impossible to get dressy shoes that don't throw the foot forward into a squash over the toes.

I have found success with Hotter but 99.9% of their stock is granny/fugly. But I did get two really nice pairs of wedge sandals there, one quite flat, the other a sling back wedge in yellow.

charleypops · 25/04/2020 00:18

I think ladies with small feet struggle with a high angle and platforms are much better for us. Can you not get your bunion fixed?

What about Jimmy Choos? I know they're expensive but if I knew their 34s would fit I'd watch out for sale or ebay. Just some EU34s come up really big

Watching with interest. I'm tiny (size 1-2 shoe, 4'9 and 62lb- although that'll change eventually as I'm in recovery). I've bought size 3s before just for the height and worn several pairs of socks with them.

OneHanded · 25/04/2020 02:31

Hi hi I’m a size 2! I only wear my dms (size 3) but do have a nice fitting pair of embroidered flats from top shop size 2 and a couple pairs of toms which are size 3 but come up very tight.

TheTeenageYears · 25/04/2020 03:07

I don't have tiny feet but have a DS with massive feet so understand the difficulty of finding shoes and massively increased costs. Have you thought about looking for Japanese, Spanish or Italian sources? They all have adult shoes in very small sizes and with the internet you should find it easier to source now than a few years ago. Obviously right now won't be great because shipping from other countries is difficult or non existent but in more normal times maybe give that a try.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 25/04/2020 10:22

@charleypops too much of a coward! A friend of mine had hers done and something went wrong, now she has a toe that permanently sticks up! Which definitely makes shoe shopping harder.

igglu · 25/04/2020 10:31

I also have size 2 feet and it is a pita because I love shoes Grin

New look sometimes have size 2 shoes, I got a couple of pairs of nice wedges there. Otherwise I can get away with a three sometimes in heeled sandals.

ASOS are also good for size 2 although do come up big on some styles.

For courts I just have to bite the bullet and pay extra. Pretty small shoes is good. I've tried jimmy Choos but they were big too. It was in the sale thought so might not have been trying their smallest ones.

Perdita40 · 26/04/2020 21:24

I'm a size two, I buy a lot of shoes from YOOX.com.. You can get some designer bargains on there.

charleypops · 26/04/2020 22:06

@lonny actually I have a friend who had hers done about a year ago and has suffered ever since.. :-/

I shall look at Yoox, and New Look, thank you. I never really see things in PSS that suit me, but have a few of their things out of desperation, usually found from eBay because it hurts to much to pay their prices for things that are not really what I want.

Problem is with buying online - even Italian or Japanese etc, is what they describe as a 34 is often really too big - more like a large 2 or 3. I'm actually probably more of a 1.5 really... I've wasted so much money on this. Why don't these shoe manufacturers simply size them in the actual mm foot they're seabed to fit???Hmm

Has anyone tried the new higher platform from Fitflop? They would be ideal - I have a couple of their diamonte toe posts in a 3 but they're too baggy really and my foot slides around in them and I can even go over in them because of this which is painful and embarrassing. Or anyone tried their "skinny" line?

OP posts:
charleypops · 03/05/2020 05:28

I got some size 3 skinny fitflops in the sale yesterday and they come up really small so actually fit really well. Tried Yoox but they lump all small shoes from size 1 to to 2.5 together which is rubbish... the all shoes category is well over 20,000 and sandals alone is 6,500 and the dozens I've clicked on are all 2 or 2.5 no clue as to whether they are EU 34 or 35 which retailers often transpose indiscriminately. so useless if you want to find those very rare 1.5s, if indeed they have any at all. Pisses me off they don't have 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 categories you can select. How hard can it be. How else are we supposed to find them??
