I'm really tempted, is worth the money? I don't usually spend a lot of face care, I use Liz Earle. I hate the smell of their moisturiser. But would continue to cleanse and polish.

It’s overrated, don’t spend you money on it!

BunnytheHoneyBee · 22/04/2020 15:23

Haven’t tried it but interested to hear others views

I’ve heard she’s not very nice as a person

ShirleyPhallus · 22/04/2020 15:24

I too think it’s overrated

They give it away a lot as samples so would advise to get some of those to start

justanotherneighinparadise · 22/04/2020 15:25

It’s just a cream. It cannot perform miracles. I didn’t mind it in the sample I goy but there’s no way I’d pay the money to replace it.

reservoircats · 22/04/2020 15:27

I have it and it is nice, don't get me wrong. It's just really expensive. My skin feels really nourished after using it and doesn't break me out.
Agree with previous poster that they send out samples, so maybe treat yourself to some makeup and pick that as a sample to try it out if you're interested.
Avoid the night cream like the plague though - it's so thick and oily - horrible.

BunnytheHoneyBee · 22/04/2020 15:30

It’s just a cream. It cannot perform miracles.

It’s magic though.

fishonabicycle · 22/04/2020 15:33

I've tried so many moisturisers and the best (boringly) has been Cerave. Cheap, big pot so can use it on body too, no break outs.

Sarcelle · 22/04/2020 15:40

Never tried it but have often seen it compared to a glorified Nivea creme, the one in the blue pot.

Housewife2010 · 22/04/2020 15:41

If you're going to spend a lot on skincare I'd spend more on serum rather than moisturizer.

CremeDeSudo · 22/04/2020 17:04

I've got Magic Cream. I really like it with their foundation. Not sure I like it enough to pay out again for it though!

Thighmageddon · 22/04/2020 17:16

Caroline Hirons says spend your money on actives and just buy bog standard moisturiser.

XylophoneSymphony · 22/04/2020 17:18

I’d be following Caroline Hirons advice as above then buying cream off Charlotte tilbury just look at them both - Caroline Hirons positively glows I don’t know how old she is but her skin is amazing so I’d do whatever r she says!

XylophoneSymphony · 22/04/2020 17:18

Rather than not then !

dustyphoenix · 22/04/2020 17:20

Agree with @Thighmageddon, buy active serums to suit (check out The Ordinary) and a standard moisturiser. I've bought Magic Cream in the past and it's totally overrated and I'd never buy it again.

User202004 · 22/04/2020 17:22

Sorry to be a moron, what's an active and a serum? My knowledge of face care extends to only cleanse, tone and moisturise!

OP posts:
TheFormidableMrsC · 22/04/2020 17:26

I've got it because of a relative who works there. It's ok. Just ok. I wouldn't pay full price for it. I do like the Magic Eye Cream though. I prefer my blue pot Nivea to be honest.

Thighmageddon · 22/04/2020 17:27

I use,
Liquid gold
Vitamin c
Retinol
amongst other things, I also use a hyaluronic acid. Then I just use a much cheaper moisturiser although I have been known to dabble in much higher end moisturisers but it's the actives that make the difference.

Saggingninja · 22/04/2020 17:28

Thigh what's a hyaluronic acid?

BunnytheHoneyBee · 22/04/2020 17:38

So is the blue nivea cream really similar?

redroses86 · 22/04/2020 19:50

I found Magic Cream just too thick, though it was nice.
As a cheaper and better alternative I would recommend M&S Formula Sleep Cream. Compared to others on the market it’s cheap and I find it really nourishes my skin.

BunnytheHoneyBee · 22/04/2020 19:56

I’ve used a Formula cream that I got in the advent calendar. Not sure if it’s the same one Hmm

tinkerbellla · 22/04/2020 20:00

Murad products are amazing and do make a noticeable difference. It's about £60 for a day cream but they always have offers on their instagram page. I tried the CT magic cream and it was ok. The night cream is horrible though. Charlotte T eyeshadows are amazing though, as are the lipsticks.

DaydreamingDay · 22/04/2020 20:08

I have the Magic Cream and it stings my eyes like mad. I can't use it as my eyes just stream every time. OP I would honestly try something else.

Fsid00 · 22/04/2020 20:14

I've just finished a pot and it did nothing for my skin. I've reverted back to my usual Garnier moisturiser. It's definitely not worth the price tag for me. Also bought the foundation which is ok.

Chillichutney1 · 22/04/2020 21:04

I found magic cream too think and cloying. A really nourishing cream that won’t set you back is dr organic Manuka honey rescue cream. I love it, and once I’ve used up all the more expensive creams I’ve wasted my money on lately I’m going to stock up on this one
