Just that. I’m in my 30s, very fit and healthy but blighted with these awful veins (nearly all on one leg). My mum doesn’t have any. I NEVER wear shorts and would love to so much. Please give me all my options - what can I do? Am so tired of people saying I must be roasting in these hot weather and that I need some shorts, etc.

Thank you in advance. x

Varicose veins are a completely different thing.

I’d save and get them lasered. Tatler & Harper’s Bazaar do supplements reviewing cosmetic practitioners every year. It’s worth looking into.

I have a few on the inside of my knee, that I've had since pregnancy. I don't really think about them when it gets hot. Last year I had a 4 inch scar on my shin from falling over, which bothered me more and I used Sally Hansen leg stuff until it faded. I don't think anyone else will be looking at your spider veins, and they just look worse to you.

Yes I know varicose veins are completely different, I was just commenting on my own vein issues, where I now, annoyingly have both. ☹️

This might be terrible advice for some people, but i've seen an improvement in my leg veins since started dry brushing most days. Obviously you'd need to do it very gently to ensure you're not making them worse and mine are genetic rather than lifestyle related i think.

Diyhaircutgonewrong · 22/04/2020 09:29

OP, no - I am white as a sheet so always go for the lightest shade.

CatherineTheNotSoGreat · 22/04/2020 10:20

I would get advice form a vascular surgeon, or a decently run medical-led aesthetic clinic. Basically they need laser or sclerotherapy. And as PPs have said, you will most likely get more over time and need top-up treatments every few years.

I also find fake tan or Sally Hansen helps camouflage but in all honesty while I know you find them unslightly, they're not that bad. I wouldn't worry too much.

I use veil camouflage cream on a scar I have on my leg.Katie Piper who was the victim of an acid attack uses it too. I have light skin but when I show my legs I always wear false tan.I ordered the veil light sample kit.It comes with about 20 different shades, similar consistency to cream concealer and a small pot of powder to set the concealer. The powder is like translucent powder for the face. My scar is an inch long and I haven't had to order a full size pot yet,as I can mix about 6 of the sample colours to get my perfect shade. It completely covers the scar.

I had sclerotherapy about seven years ago on leg veins. I had quite a collection but they were all done in one session and it solved them completely. I have small number of new ones now and am waiting until I have enough to make another visit worth it.

It was not really painful at all, just pinpricks and tbh the nurse who did mine chatted throughout and I barely noticed.

emsyj37 · 24/04/2020 19:10

Can I ask what it cost @Bathonian2020?? I was considering laser but would look at this option if it only needs one session.

Some great advice here, thank you. Good to hear about the successful therapies and lolaloves, I’m definitely going to order some of the Veil camouflage stuff - it’s teallu great to hear that it works! x
