Gym wear advice

I'm continuing with a training programme I started in January, aiming to lose body fat and build lean muscle. My shape is changing - I have pretty good arm and shoulder definition for the first time ever - and I'm working to lose weight. But all my kit is ancient - think t shirts not fit to wear anywhere other than in a sweaty weights workout and leggings that will be soon be uncomfortably hot as it gets warmer. I'm after some new capri length leggings and a medium support top - something to spur me on that I can have photos taken in to show my progress as that's the culmination as well as being physically fitter. I'm a 34EE pear shape and anticipate that if I lose the weight I want to I'll be down to a DD or smaller. I'm prepared to spend up to £80. Looking online I'm never sure if the bra tops in particular will look daft on someone bigger than the models. I'd quite like something colourful after hiding in dark colours for years.

I really love Bam workout clothing. Fantastic, colourful comfortable leggings, made of sustainable fabric. Quite expensive but they often offer discounts and deals, especially to new customers.

I looked at Bam the other day. Thanks for more suggestions.

Sainsbury's Tu running leggings are amazing. They are so supportive and the only ones I've ever had that don't ride down your waist as you run. Much better than my Nike and Karrimoor ones.
I have a great running hoodie from Decathalon which was great value. You don't get too sweaty in it so can keep on even when you start to warm up - and it has pockets so double bonus.

@wowfudge
Sorry no clothing suggestions but I'd be really interested in your training programme - can you share it please?

wowfudge · 22/04/2020 21:31

@Veterinari - I've pm'd you.

Sweaty Betty restocks pretty quickly- just ordered a pair of leggings which were showing as sold out.

I just bought my first pair of Sweaty Betty leggings. The power ones as they had an offer on so they were down to £60. Still expensive but I've had trouble finding a good pair so decided to go for it. So far, so good. Very comfy, good thickness, stay up and lovely colour (beetle blue).

Decathlon do the best sports kit at decent value.

I also like BAM stuff, as recommended upthread, but it's too warm for running in IME. Good for the gym though.

I love sturdy by design for great leggings

Tikiboo are fantastic.

I used to be a 32G, but I’m now a small 32F (after breastfeeding). I wear the same Shock Absorber sports bra and it still does a good job. The back straps have three well spaced out hooks, and there’s a strap at the top and the bottom so they’re very adjustable. So although they’re quite expensive, it should last you a while. It also has thick straps so is comfy on the shoulders too.

Thanks for this post, my gym wear is all old and black so I think I’ll update too - thanks for the inspiration :-)

Try Sweaty Betty online. They have an offer on at the moment. If you buy a pair of power leggings and a top, you get £30.00 off. They have lovely, funky coloured leggings and they are bum sculpting. Good quality too. I love them and I am pear shaped.

My best leggings EVER came from Asda. Otherwise agree with PP, Sainsbury's gym stuff is also very good - good quality and good value.
