Lockdown and disappearing crow's feet

Noticed today that my skin is looking amazing. I am drinking most days(a glass of wine or a beer) and my cleansing routine is patchy to say the least. I am washing with soap every couple of days and applying my usual Body Shop moisturiser. But. Not wearing make-up and I am sleeping quite well. Anyone else noticed this? I am in my 50s so no spring chicken. Is it having more downtime, no foundation or regular sleep pattern? Halo

My skin on my face is looking brighter somehow, I’m assuming it’s just less pollution. My hair doesn’t need washing as often so is also looking better and my nails are whiter but my hands.... my hands have aged 20 years!! They look like dry cracked river DDS and no amount of moisturisering is helping them. They actually itch and are sore and burning most days BlushSad

River beds!*

Is it all the hand washing?

And I hadn't thought of less pollution. I have noticed that when I don't wear foundation my skin looks brighter but my crow's feet! It's like I have had a face lift.

@verybritishproblems
Are you using liquid hand soap? It has a detergent in it that lots of people are allergic to.
Switch to a proper bar soap - it's made my hands look 10 years younger than using the liquid soaps at work!

I have noticed this, too. In my case I think it's a mixture of getting more sleep and putting on weight Blush

I probably have put on a few pounds as my step count has halved but I am still eating the same Blush. However I don't see how that would have eradicated crow's feet?! Interesting though.

Less smiling and fewer conversations with people?
Some days lately I’m home days on end and my face looks less lined and more fresh (I’m getting a lot more sleep). I have far fewer people to converse with day to day so less smiling sadly...
I am also drinking a lot of water which probably helps (boredom and trying to not constantly snack!)

I've noticed this a bit. I usually wear make up, so use a cleanser to remove it at the end of the day. But now I'm putting on moisturiser as usual in the morning, no make up, and night cream before bed, missing out the cleansing bit. I wonder whether that has anything to do with it.

Delatron · 19/04/2020 22:13

Ooh I noticed this too. Do you think it’s because we’re not talking/interacting/smiling at people as much?

Bit more sleep may be helping..

bingowingsmcgee · 19/04/2020 22:20

I'd say it's defo the extra sleep that's benefitting your skin, OP. If I have a couple of consecutive lie-ins my skin is always ten times better. It's like your body has chance to heal all the little things that it would otherwise not have chance to.

incognitomum · 19/04/2020 22:23

I'm still working but my skin is better. I have pretty good skin for my age 51 and get taken for 40 at most. But even dh said today how lovely my skin is. Bizarre?? Confused
